Nietzsche and the Environment

here’s a thread I’m sure to regret

What do you think Nietzsche’s views on the environment and environmentalism would be?

h3m

“Had he but remained in the wilderness, and far from the good and just! Then, perhaps, would he have learned to live, and love the earth—and laughter also!

Remain true to the earth, my brethren, with the power of your virtue! Let your bestowing love and your knowledge be devoted to be the meaning of the earth! Thus do I pray and conjure you.”

Zarathustra I imagine?

What else …? :evilfun:

I remember a quotation from Nietzsche that says something like: If technology will become a danger for life, we have to fight against it. Unfortunately I can’t find it …

Well, in Anti-christ Nietzsche places high value on instincts, so I think he was an advocate of biological naturalism. He attaches the values good and pure to instincts and blames christianity for trying to suppress those by making following your instincts a sin. He argues that the concept of sin was introduced by priests, who by combining sin with free will, could make a man guilty and thus hold power over him.
