Nihilism= Immaturity of mind

O:)

…and I was just clarifying things! O:)

lol if you read carefully rhinoboy didnt actually use the word immaturity in his first post :slight_smile:. but i’ll concede and say that the immatureness of nihilism in this discussion was directed at Aidan :smiley:

Sorry to have spoiled your game-plan! #-o

I guess it applies to a few, then!

K…so if i see an old woman on the ice about to fall, PUSH HER! :laughing:
“What is stumbling must be pushed; so that it may learn to stand under its own power - or fall into oblivion”
What is this push?

I suppose this is directed at me?

Well, the objective of anyone who perceives another in a state of distress should be to ensure that this person conquers their distress, whatever it may be, and comes out of it a stronger person, shouldn’t it?

The point of pushing somebody who is stumbling, then, is to not (at the risk of repeating myself) give them the crutch of your pity by teaching them that there will always be a helping hand hovering around nearby to grasp whenever ones footing is uncertain, but to actively cause them further upset, as they then will learn to stand and be strong - or they will crumble and fall, in which case they weren’t worth the effort …

Nice straw man with the old woman BTW. :wink:

Man all us nihilists should start a thread describing everyone else as being immature.

Maybe we could be in the cool kids crowd too! :unamused:

( We could have our own secrect meetings and hand shakes to throw everyone else off.) :sunglasses:

Moralist->Nihilist->Immoralist->Ubermensch

There’s no need to stay at Stage 2 …

Yes. He already has it in him.

Indeed Nihilism does require nothing. However this is infact its entire logical downfall, Nihilism is tainted at the very core because it preaches that no ideals matter or even exist, as Nihilism is in itself an ideal, the logic breaks apart. Even if nothing did matter, a human with belifes, and personal reasons for doing things could not acurately convey this message, nor would it make any difference if they did or not

I think Nihilists generally consider themselves cool anyway, much in the same way that the rebelling teenager thinks the same

Nice

That means it must make sense then

:unamused:

Aidan is impotent, currently. To him, life is pain as a consequence of his failures.

And because he is a failure, he lashes out and blames the entirety of existence for his own lack of action.

He talks about being raped constantly - but why does he permit this to continue? Because he views it as inescapable; he is unable to extricate himself from his own contemptible little rut, so he slanders all overcoming as impossible.
But it is only impossible for him.

He is a slave.

It is therefore the responsibility of all who are not so crippled as he to embrace fully the beauty of the life that he has reviled.

Nicely put, Ap…
