Awarding the Nobel Peace Prize might represent a world wide sigh of relief.
The United States, the most powerful nation on this planet, follows up eight years of President George Bush with an election in which the Republican Party chooses an aging John McCann with running mate Sarah Palin as contender for the presidency and finally elects President Barack Obama.
I just saw that Obama won the Nobel prize and was trying to put it into context.
From a rational perspective, does Obama deserved the prize? No, simple as that, but
this award is really about something else. Coberst as usual, got part of the answer.
It is a reaction to bush and his “cowboy” diplomacy. but what is really interesting
is the right wing reaction. They openly cheered when Chicago lost the olympics and
now openly boo this award. Have they openly begun to root against America?
Their reaction gives us pause. I suggest that the GOP has joined AL qaeda and
is now actively rooting against america.
The Nobel peace prize is all about condoning peaceful diplomacy rather than the results.
Does Obama deserve it? No. Did Yasah Arrafat deserve it? No. It’s a result of Bushes administration and a congratulations by the world for not voting in another turd sandwich or douchebag. But it also sends the message that we all think peaceful solutions are better than war at least outside of the GOP and at least in theory. If we look at the 20th/21st century the theory is strong, even if the overlords and minions are weak, selfish, easily lead and careless.
It’s a sort of well done at least you tried award, in a sea of perpetual and planetary stupidity. Should they wait until someone actually achieves peace under difficult circumstances, if they did then I doubt it would ever be given out except to Gandhi, oh no wait…
At least the effort is condoned… I suppose we have to consider the effect it could have on people after the fact, rather than the effect that was achieved before the fact. It’s better to award wisdom than stupidity, even if stupidity is perpetual and wisdom fleeting. To me its a political encouragement to do better in future, to keep up the good work, rather than an award for the here and now. Keep it up… please. [-o<
The Illuminati orchestrated the whole thing. They wanted the prize to go to Obama cuz he’s their man. The world is actually at peace… has been for a long time. Their just messin’ with our minds to keep us off kilter. Doing a damn good job of it too.
