dead candy looms low
in midnight matinees
flickering sticky corpses
squash upward
enhale flesh
exhale opaque
machine poetry
lattice diatribes
lines and loops
what are colors
when the sky
is seasick still

That is the best thing I’ve ever read on ILP. I shit you not.
Reminds me of a mix of the Blood Brothers (the band), Candyland (the board game), and Dawn of the Dead (the movie).

Gamer:
strange meats
fall from the sky
now a wing
now a thigh
now a breast
fully formed
stuffed and dressed
over warmed
and a steak just hit me in the ear
what is going on in here?
I’LL TELL YOU
it’s strange meats
falling from heaven
I noticed them first
when I was seven
(some people wait
till they’re old and gray
to notice how meat
doth fall in this way)
storms of flesh
and body parts
all birds of prey
with broken hearts
not one heart unbroken
not one free lunch
just strange meat punching
its ham-fisted punch
severed fingerprints
pointlessly point
leathery snowflakes
in a blizzard of touch
and the slappity slap
of fresh slab and flap
it bounces and flounces
and lands in your lap!
clap your ears shut
or wind up in a trap!
by the fountains of youth
by the fork and the knife
by the mountain, the molehill
and the piemaker’s wife!
strange meat a’coming
a brisk(et) wind blows
should travelling troubadours
risk(it)? who knows.
soon a red giant
will expand in the blue
the world will be
a grand barbecue
(the land will grow quiet,
not even a mooo.)
and when the feast ends
and the sky grows cold
the grind of the blind will end,
the butcher will fold
And yet you didn’t (don’t?) like to separate chicken wings.

wow dig it
this meat poem
is a sad poem about realizing for the first time just how horrifying it is, the amount of flesh wasted in this world, of both man and beast. The chicken bit was acknowledging the torn nature of meat eaters, the closer we get to the wholeness of the creature in its living state, the more guilty and disturbed we feel.
Nothing To See Here
pretend to be superficial & glib, even though you truly understand the depths. Make sure people know you’re pretending, and that they see between the subtle lines how impressively you understand. And but so if you ever find yourself in the embarrassing position of not understanding, you can pretend that you are pretending that you don’t understand, until only the smartest people will call you out on it, and they will say “nothing to see here” and you will feel like dead candy.
it makes me feel good to see my words unearthed. this meat poem is kinda hysterical.

You'r lucky, it can amuse You, but probably only in retrospect.
