Obama and the oil crisis

I don’t blame Obama for the spill (any more than I blame Bush for 9-11), except for the fact that the government approved every step of its construction so the government is culpable to a degree. But, I do lay the blame directly at Obama’s feet for the incompetent and even obstructionist government response once the disaster happened.

He told the Netherlands no thanks for bringing their skimmers.

The skimmers we did have in the Gulf were called to port by the Coast Guard for a safety inspection of their life vests and fire extinguishers!!!

He stonewalled Gov. Jindal’s request to build up berms to protect La.'s shore line.

He didn’t wave the Jones Act as all Presidents have done in response to even smaller emergencies in order to let the manpower needed respond, tipping his hat in the process to the unions.

He initiated the moratorium stopping all well operations which will drastically increase unemployment as well as cut off necessary oil production when there’s no reason for it. (He got some oil experts to sign a statement saying oil drilling should be stopped, but when the statement was published, it said all offshore operations should be stopped. When the signatories objected saying that was not what they signed and would be totally wrong, they were told, sorry, too late.)

All this is more than incompetence and obstructionism, it’s sabotage. Even the leftist press was up in arms about Obama,s speech last week, which contained nothing but campaign-style platitudes.

Obama is out of control.

I found this about the skimmers. seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/n … ign15.html
It was run by The Washington Post.

The bloggers who even bother to provide sources give this chron.com/disp/story.mpl/bus … 43272.html. I had to read a lot of the same cut and paste talking point to find that.

Compare what the blogs say with the press.
The Dutch government never even put out a press release about it. government.nl/
I guess they didn’t think it was so out of the ordinary.

It seems like the extremist blogger community has got hold of this and are going to run with it. Too bad, because I think the Obama administration deserves some real criticism over this mess, and this will just make serious critique look like ranting.

As to the rest of the OP, could someone find non blog sources to back up TPT’s claims. It’s too time consuming to cut through the crap for one person.
