Obama's War on Fox Fizzles

For those who thought Obama’s war on Fox News was a tempest in a teapot, ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC etc disagree.

Did your local paper cover this boycott of Obama’s boycott? My local rag, the Arizona Republic did not.

This whole thing reminds me of a story:

Hey not bad for the liberal communist networks right TPT?

No they did not. This is the first I have heard about it.

They did what they did in their own self interest. They knew they’d be next. I’m surprised at your cavalier attitude about this.

Doing what one does for one’s own self interest is the best one ever has to do to make free market capitalism work isn’t TPT? Don’t mistake a little humor with a cavalier attitude. The issue is mainly a matter of who’s ox is being gored. Conservatives didn’t give a rat’s ass when Bush was stonewalling kicking the “liberal media”.

Felix is correct. The President has always had the ability/right to grant access to whomever they want.

Presidents in the past have decried an opposition press, wrongly or, as in Bush’s case, rightly. But this was cutting out one news organization and attempting to cause it harm–particularly since it was the only major one which wasn’t toeing the Obama line.

C’mon, look at what’s happened here. The other news organization’s reactions alone screams out that this is more than just carping about media coverage. They’d rather have walked on hot coals than do what they did, and it was unprecedented. Ask yourself why?

I don’t think their is a real level of animosity between the main media corps. They all make money. They all need each other. Without the other they have no “opposition”. My question is why do you say it was Bush right in doing it and Obama is wrong in doing it? I think it is the President’s right even Bush’s. In fact, I enjoy hearing about Nixon’s disdain for the press. So why the double standard regarding our last two presidents?
