I once knew a man who walked everywhere in sandals.
I would say to him, “Why do you wear sandals? Even in the winter?”
He would respond, “It’s a conversation peice, just like we’re having now. Sure I walk slower, and get less done but when I trudge past a bum in the streets, fighting off the cold and snow - I feel him and his world. He looks at my sandals, my revealed skin. I look in his eyes”
ILP has served you well. Like all good things, one needs balance. Not balance in the sense of a little of this or a little of that. That kind of balance will only drive you crazy trying to fit everything in and trying to keep the chaotic and spontaneous away from your door. You cannot! Life is not a business to be managed, it’s a mystery to be lived. The balance I’m referring to is the centredness and focus that is required to live a whole peaceful life. Then it doesn’t really matter how much time you are spending anywhere, you are doing it with all your attention, fully engaged in it, you are doing it differently. Your experience of it is different.
Agreed, sometime we need to go away, inspiration comes in life, in the living of life, there needs to be something to share. Not simply time wasted. Again, the balance is found in ourselves.
So, in your spare time, you wanna collaberate on a 10 step program for ILP junkies? We’ll have to keep it a secret from Ben. Pushers don’t like rehab programs, it cuts into their huge profits.
Any way, it would give us an excuse for being on the net all the time. Writing a rehab program for getting off the net could take years of being online…
Hey Bess, that’s a genuine photo of a kitty that had a condition called Holoprosencephaly – which causes facial deformities. Cy (Cyclops) was born a couple of weeks ago and only lived a day or two.
Don’t worry Cy, even though others (like Bessy ) don’t think you were cute enough to be posted here, I do. It’s not you who has the eye of a cyclops, it is us.
