what is playstation 9? i only heard of playstation and PS2. can someone give me some info here? i mean i was raised on nintendo and only got a bit of sega (L)game gear before i tried to sell the thing. sega took a nose dive,possibly because of crappy game quality, but then i never had a big dose of it’s games ether.the worst part being i’ve played playstation the least out of all these systems and basically,dont know shit about it.
Well, Sega is the one on the list for which no games shall ever be made again because they are defunct. So they are eliminated. When it comes to Nintendo vs Sony, I guess the question to ask is “Are you older than 9?” If yes, then Sony. If not, probably Nintendo.
As far as total over history, I would say that Nintendo has the market on memorable, classic games with near-perfect gameplay and story. But those games were all at least 2 consoles ago (with a couple exceptions), so all they really have going for them now is nostalgia.
EDIT: As far as gameplay of old Sega consoles, the only one that people actually bought was the Genesis, which had 3 buttons. 3? Every other console I can think of has had an even number of buttons, which means that ports of other-system games over to the Sega often played like crap, and even familiar ‘kinds’ of games like fighting games and racing games felt very odd.

I had a Sega back in da day. Playstation sucks ass, because the controller doesn’t fit the hand right. X-box will always rule.
“Morrowind” is the baddest game that ever existed. When the new one comes out, I’ll probably die playing it.
Assuming the options have been chosen carefully, PlayStation was a 64-bit system; Nintendo and Sega were 8-bit systems. Nothing to debate there.
That said, Nintendo (NES) is the better system compared to Sega if only because it had a vastly superior game selection.
the computer has and always will be better than your pathetic consoles. every 5 years, maybe a console will come out with better graphics, but the depth and quality of the games, not to mention the ability to aim with the mouse, makes the computer, without the slightest doubt, at least 73 times better than all consoles combined.

Depends on which ones you mean. By Sega do you mean Dreamcast, Genesis or Saturn? By Nintendo are you referring to the 'Cube, NES, SuperNES or N64? PSX or P2?
I grew up on Colecovision, Atari 2600, etc. But I never actually could afford my own until I was older and out of high school. In those middle years, I thought the Genesis was hands down a better machine than the SuperNES, and I liked the games better. The original NES had some great games, but I was never a fan.
The Dreamcast was the most underappreciated console I can think of. It stood head and shoulders the competitors in terms of graphics and power, and in it’s limited lifespan it spawned some fantastic games.
For overall quality of games, I’d have to pick the original PSX. There are a dozen or so games I still play for it today- something I can’t say for Nintendo or Sega (okay, I occasionally still play DC Soulcaliber).
That said, once I got an Xbox I quit playing my P2. Eventually I sold it (although I’ll probably buy a new slim one just to play a few recent releases not out for the 'box). I’m far from a MS fanboy, or even a fan for that matter. I actually really resent the whole company. But the 'Box rules them all. And most of my favorite all time games reside on the Xbox: Knights of the Old Republic, HALO, Morrowwind, HALO2, DOOM 3, Knights of the Old Republic II- The Sith Lords, Castle Wolfenstein, etc.
I don’t have a '360 yet, but I will when my local store has some. Still, I think the P3 will probably be the best. That’s what I’m really anxious for. 
Amen to that, this debate is obsolete when one considers the PC! No console beats the graphic quality, the controls or the games of the PC.
However since you asked, Sega is the best. Nintendo had the worst games and worst controls ever. Playstation was a piece of tackey crap, unoriginal. Besides the x-box, the greatest console ever is Sega. By the way, you can buy six button controlers for the Sega Genesis (or Megadrive as we call it in the UK).

I have to admit that the XBox Has been a hell of a system. I have a GameCube,Xbox, and PS2, and I must say that while I buy more games for the PS2, the Xbox has definitely had more absolute winners of the ones I’ve picked. Phaedrus, if you liked KOTOR, you ought to pick up Jade Dragon, assuming you haven’t.

Yeah, that one pretty badass but I’m a sucker for the classic PS7. I don’t know why but that the one that always sticks with me.
