Okay England…Where Are You?

Syria could be a shit storm.

We are about to address a madman. Are you with us?

I know you support the refugee. Will you stand with America on an intervention?

…

…This is an international travesty…I can’t hear you.

.

Personally, I would need to know what you have in mind when you speak of intervention. I am in my sixtieth year.

.

…

I would hope, the elimination of Assad’s chemical weapons manufacturing sites.

…I’m thinkin, if Assad would kill his own people, he would not hesitate to kill you.

Or me.

.

The vast majority of English people don’t support war.

So we’re not coming. We’re not like you American nutcases who just wanna blow everything up “for good”.

There’s the fearful bunch who’ve swallowed the “if we don’t kill them they’ll kill us” line, like your post seems to suggest you’ve done.
There’s the angry macho bunch who just wanna kill whoever they’ve been told are the bad guys, and just generally wreak havoc because of their own problems.
There’s the soft ones who’ve bought the humanitarian “we’re doing it to save the innocents and stop more suffering” angle.

And then there’s sanity.

And the knowledge that the rallying is all bullshit - there’s just a bunch of rich powerful people who want to get more rich off of war and who just want to make the most profitable friends, but under the banner of being heroes.

If you really wanted to stop the fighting, you’d let the killers kill each other. That’s what they want anyway.
If you really wanted to help the innocents, rescue them and offer them asylum into your own country. Oh, you don’t want that do you.

=D>

There is a definite trust issue for many Brits (like me), also it seems pretty daft to assist rebels with links to al qaeda .

Look, Barack Obama is, in my opinion, the best President this country has ever had the pleasure of electing…twice.

He is in a horrible position but he has made the decision that restricting Assad in some way would be beneficial to this entire country and the world. I tend to agree with him. Only because he is extremely intelligent and he has an extremely wide view of history and a commitment to a dream that will hopefully benefit the world community.

Plus, I trust him totally.

…

Thank you for the opportunity to express the above opinion. I think it needed to be said within the context of this thread.

.

Obama is like America’s Tony Blair, only after he has gone will you realise what a totally useless cunt he really is…all style over substance.

.

Look, there is an unstable government, that for now, is being run by a ruler that has proven to have NO regard for life.

This country, Syria, is PRODUCING chemical weapons.

Weapons that include sarin which is the most deadly agent known to be used in weapons of mass destruction.

AND they are stockpiling sarin.

THIS IS ILLEGAL
on an international scale.

On top of that Assad IS NOW USING DEADLY CHEMICAL WEAPONS.

Israel is within shouting distance of Syria.

If none of this means anything to you - go back to sleep.

As I said before, we’ll take care of it for you.

No sense for anyone else in the world to get their hands dirty…

This is a hell of a situation and America is going to pay dearly for this activity…now or in the near future if we do not act.

…sorry to get real on ya…good night.

…

…hope you sleep like a baby…

.

Given that the US won’t intervene to stop deaths in its own country, why should anyone take US intervention in Syria seriously?

And the US doesn’t even want to stop the killing (of civilians or otherwise) in Syria, they just, supposedly, want to stop the use of chemical weapons.

Here’s where stands England :
Britain sent poison gas chemicals to Assad: Proof that the UK delivered Sarin agent to Syrian regime for SIX years
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2415081/Britain-sent-poison-gas-chemicals-Assad-Proof-UK-delivered-Sarin-agent-Syrian-regime-SIX-years.html

This time the public opinion in the US is fierce. If Syria is to be handled, Russia must be involved.

…I think he is trying to stand-up for what is right.

There are a number of issues inside the Syrian conflict:

The government is unstable.

There are chemical weapons being manufactured there.

Chemical weapons are being used against fellow Syrians.

Our interests with Israel may be in danger.

Syria and the present Syrian conflict may pose a greater risk to the entire middle-east.

American interests and the interests of the free world may be jeopardized if chemical weapons are continued to be allowed.

Syria under Assad is breaking international law by storing and manufacturing chemical weapons.

 • This is a horrible situation that if not restrained now may grow to be totally out of control and endanger more individuals and engulfing more countries.

.

I see, yes. And bombing will stabilize it. I had not thought of that.

Are you sure about this? It has now been revealed Bristian was a supplier.

And also, Saddam may have sent his chemical weapons to Syria before he had to hide in a hole.

PARIS: US Secretary of State John Kerry said on Sunday that Arab League ministers had agreed at talks in Paris that Syria crossed a “global red line” in its alleged chemical weapons attack.

Kerry said a number of Arab countries were willing to sign a statement agreed by 12 countries of the G20 that called for a reaction to the alleged attack, and that they would make announcements in the next 24 hours.

“All of us agree, not one dissenter, that Assad’s deplorable use of chemical weapons… crosses an international global red line,”
Kerry told journalists after the talks.

“Today we discussed the possible and necessary measures that can be taken,” he said.

“A number of countries immediately signed on to the G20 agreement,” Kerry said, naming Saudi Arabia as among them.

“I am not going to name the other countries simply because we agreed in the meeting; they would go back and make their own announcements, which they will do within the next 24 hours,” Kerry said.

“Everybody understood that the decisions need to be made within the next 24 hours.”

Kerry met with Saudi Foreign Minister Saud al-Faisal, who he said had made clear his country’s support for military action.

“They have supported the strike and they have supported taking action,”
Kerry said.

Qatari Foreign Minister Khaled al-Attiyah said the alleged attacks on August 21 saw the regime of Bashar al-Assad move from conventional warfare to “weapons of mass destruction”.

“If the international community really wants to protect international peace and security, it cannot afford to stand still while unarmed people are being attacked with these weapons,” he said.

“We, in Qatar, support the statement of the 12 out of the G20,” Attiyah said. “We call on other countries to intervene to protect the Syrian people from what they are being subjected to.”

Asked about whether Qatar would directly contribute to military action in Syria, he said: “Qatar is currently studying with its friends and the United Nations what it could provide in order to protect the Syrian people.”

Sunday’s talks brought together officials from the Arab League, Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Morocco, the Palestinians, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.

Phase 1:

Syria - I need more physical force to overthrow what I see as a bad dictatorship in favour of my better dictatorship.
The West - o rly? Wouldn’t you know it, we have just the thing, ehem pay up.

Phase 2:

The West - stop buying all these weapons that we are currently engaged in selling to you at such a delicious profit!
Syria - wait, what?

Phase 3:

The West - fine, you asked for it: war it is!
Syria - wtf?!

Presumable phase 4:

The West - #Bombz4democracyyy!!!
Syria - stop bombing the shit out of us, you said we were friends! Fine, retaliation@u.

The West (to The West) - my fellow Americans, innocent Westerners have died solely due to an unprovoked attack by the al-Quaeda terrorist Syrian insurgent WMD 9/11 regime. “Justice” will prevail.
(to Syria) - congratulations on becoming our new Osama Bin Laden/Saddam Husein/Colonel Gaddafi etc. Let us repay your generous donations to our desperate economy by assassinating you (sucker).

Hmm… now, who to frame next?

Bill Waltrack - Obama/any-interchangeable-US-president, he’s so dreamy. Just look at how his sincerity classes and dazzling PR have paid off. I’m so switched on about what’s really going on, I wish everyone else would wake up too :frowning:

Just out of curiosity, suppose definitive proof comes to light that the Russian government is using chemical weapons against dissident Chechens or the Chinese government is using them against dissident Tibetans?

Stage #5 (presumably). WELL given all of the above, but really, its all about the children, and any confuscation is totally void, since children do not understand them. WE HAVE TO BOMB TO SAVE THE CHILDREN. And my fellow Americans , its a total disgrace that the United Nations did not stand up to the challenge. SOME one has to. THE US is able to, and fill the role it has always been ascribed to: to become the beacon, to light up the emerging darkness. Enveloping the world!

Apparently Russia is going to be on board somehow. This is a good thing. This can allow international consensus, a globally shared responsibility, the imperative to take rebuilding seriously. Honestly I have no objections to a complete overhaul of Syrian society, they’ve been living in a state of constant terror and shame for many decades. But no one seems to have been trained there in humanism, which is a prerequisite to a rational democracy.

A theological view means that there is an absolute right and absolute wrong. Under such convictions it is simply impossible to accept a victory of a party based on different principles. Democracy would not have been possible in Christian Europe either. America is a different story, here humanism has been wearing the mask of Christianity until the recent past, when the tea party began to take it literally again, to the great detriment of the whole world.

If the UN wants to have a humanitarian victory in the Middle East, the Islamic education system must be broken.
