I got nothing because just before we were all getting ready to go to my sister’s place, my dad had a stroke and an aneurysm (sp?) and I spent all night in the hospital while they cut off half his skull for emergency surgery. He’ll be under anesthesia for at least two more days before they can try and wake him up and see whether he actually wakes up, and if he does, how much function he’ll have. The surgeon said his right side was as bad as she’s ever seen, and the first doctor told us he probably wouldn’t make it to the next hospital, but we air-lifted him anyway and he made it through surgery. His head is about twice it’s normal size and he’s missing half his skull. He’s only 52 years old.
To reply to the OP, I got my windows tinted on my car, and money to open a bank account with (moving out on my own in 3 months!) I also got some other smaller things like clothes etc.
I got a cool little S.O.G. folding knife and a Best Buy gift card. Everyone in my extended family was a bit broke this year, so I’m really the only one that spent a lot of money on gifts. But that’s fine my me- just getting my whole family together was gift enough. My dad & I spent a couple days sharpening stuff (I bought him a Spyderco Edgemaker 204, and I taught him how to use my Edge Pro Apex & waterstones).
Besides, I’m the kinda guy that just buys what I want. There really wasn’t a lot that I really hoped to get.
I did not find anything under our tree that morning. That probably was due to the fact that we did not have a tree. We do not give or receive presents on December 25th. My answer is obvious, nothing.
