I think folks are just trying to expand the field is all. Age difference does not mean control.
My stepdad is 7 yrs older than me he and my mom werre married for just over 30 yrs until she recently passed away. The man loves my mom and she loved him. There was a 17 year gap between them. Theirs is not the only relationship that is with the older woman younger man. The Age taboo is lifting for women, if its ok for the guys to go for younger women and build a relationship then it is OK for women. That is all that it is. No control issues hidden.
At least until someone asks the guy if his mother would like a cold drink, within ear shot of the woman

What I have found is that it is “dominant” young men that appear to be going after older women… and why?
It is because from my perspective, young men are getting disillusioned with women ages 18-25 who are literally dumb as piss. It’s disgusting.
For example, take the “Girls Gone Wild” campaign that displays itself over & over & over again on the TV channels, what’s up with it?
I would rather be punched in the face than screw one of those dumb pieces of shit.
For some reason, I’d find poking a pile of rocks with my dick more fulfilling.
More mature women are “wiser”. They are more “powerful”, because they are more “wise”. Young, dominant men understand this.
They are jumping ahead of the curve…
it could be an oedipal complex thing or yearning for a sexually experienced or more mentally mature partner. but maybe 9/10 guys i know would prefer a younger woman in the long run, especially if they’re over the age of 25
Each to their own: for we all want what we want! 
I think we are seeing one side of the story here, I think that as you become older you will still see those younger as being more attrctive and full of life as you were. When we have come to hard times such as devorce we will want to feel like we did when we were first in love, so logically our brains will sub contiously point us in the direction of those younger than ourselves.
I dont think that gender has anything to do with this
Yeah - stats are cited for the very recent past only and then a “role reversal” is proclaimed. As it is, the dating service survey measured “interest” and not actual activity.
I think this is just a “made up” phenomenon. I’m guessing there’s nothing new here.
I have dated women ten years older than myself. Maybe more. And women twenty years younger.
There have been, with most of them, “control” issues.

My explanation for this is two things:

“Smart” young men enjoy the wisdom of older women. The Girls Gone Wild are just too dumb to hold a conversation (Valley Girl accent).

Since human sexuality is expanding its horizons, it is more socially & culturally acceptable for young men to maintain such relationships.
Concerning #2, young men going after older women would be seen as negative, because the ideal relationship was one of an older man with a younger woman. The matriarchs are displeased when the ideal expands beyond their ability to understand the reasons for it. This is where males step in, explaining the phenomena. Men of all ages will attracted to both younger and older women, because of extreme traits (considered ideal). Because knowledge is power, it is attractive. A woman in her 30s-40s is usually much more knowledgeable than one in her 18-20s. Ideally, she would be more confident, go after the men she sees as enticing easier, and would have her own career already under way.

While older women may be wiser than younger ones, it’s usually still not enough to make the conversation alot better. Younger women have tighter pussies. Who wants to fuck an old lady w/ 3 kids and meat curtains? Maybe those guys are just looking for someone to be thier mommy. Good conversation can be had amongst other men. For sexual purposes, which are about the only ones we’re talking about when it comes to dating and mating, younger women have alot more going for them. And don’t give me some crap about older women having more sexual experiences. A 21 year old girl in 2008 fucks better than some 35-40 year old who’s got bad knees and no stamina any day of the week.
Might as well just find a younger girl whos smarter than you, that way you get the looks and the brains. Stop setting your standards so low. Not all young ladies are stupid

Or find one that’s got a bright future like an honors student, or someone who’s likely to get a large life insurance payout when thier parents die. Everyone’s got something to contribute. Younger girls last longer, and are more impressionable. They also have a tendency to need to validate themselves sexually.

That’s true–I was initially implying the single and childless women ages 30+. But yes, many guys are looking for a “mommy” so-to-speak. There is a difference between my point about wisdom though–or not–perhaps I’m the only person who enjoys wisdom more so than any other physical trait? I don’t really mind it.
Again, I think that depends on the guy’s intelligence.
IMO, a man makes the sex “good”, age is inconsequential.

As far as IQ is concerned Ive already found her. Though she has less interest in persuits of the mind and prefers to put her superior brain to some actual use in this world is a trait I wish I had more myself and as such makes me respect her more.

Some men are attracted to certain women for different reasons, but one ideal remains consistent (the undefinable one).
Everybody has a least a little bit of wisdom in them, some much more than others. The “brilliant” people are the most attractive.
