I doubt that I watched more than 15 minutes on TV, but the stills almost say more than the hours people spent glued to the screen. What is it about a still? A moment of action caught and recorded. It draws you in and you’re IN the picture, not just looking at it. Maybe it is visual poetry?
Oh, and the cheesecakes shots were nice too…
I absolutely love the Olympics but NBC has made it virtually impossible to enjoy them this time around. It’s been no more than five minutes of coverage at a time, sandwiched in between lengthy commercial breaks. I know they spent a ton of money to cover the games but I decided during the first week not to allow that to become my problem. I catch the highlights and read the coverage online and in the paper.
And with stills like these, who needs anything more? I think these pics say it all. Sure, visual poetry. Absolutely.
