I’ve seen this (or somethnig very similar) several years ago on TV. It was a bungy jump style right of passage and showed about a dozen jumpers.
The aim was to get as close to the ground as possible. There were often deaths so this could be a real misjudgement.
The video showed different cultures doing similar things. The most impressive were the islander jumpers who had to first climb what looked like a hundred metres of rickedy scaffolding made of bamboo.
this seems like some great editing. A person ready to die would probably not pop his neck before.
