Omnipotent, Omniscient, Omnibenevolent

So are the three O’s in the bible or not?

I do not think so. In fact, the OT tells of competing gods. So Jahweh was not omnipotent, at least at first. Omniscient, maybe. No way he was omnibenevolent. of course, that word doesn’t even make sense.

The OT shows Him to be often asking for information. So definitely not omniscient.

So he’s really powerful, pretty stupid and pretty mean.

Stupid is as stupid does.

It’s the later NT, with all that Greek influence, that had Him in the role of Infinite Logos Dude. Around that period there was a big cultural mixing across the Greek world, there were Gnostics (who seemed to have a pretty strong effect on the Christian conception of the Devil), Zoroastrians, all sorts.

Having said that, there’s stuff in the OT that implies he’s everywhere and knows everything. Google throws up psalm 139 as the first example.

The benevolent thing tends to get worked around by either saying that whatever he does is good by definition, or blaming the Fall.
