Science can look at beginnings, but origins are too subtle. Statik is right.
The usual bullshit needs to be eliminated before you can get to the answer. The best I ever found was a chain of events had to occur for matter to become life. One thing happening does not seem plausible. Many events had to occur. What these were, we may never know. You want better than that you need to get the best scientists out there in space where hands on can find your answers. Other than that, why give a shit? Life exists.
