I post in a few philosophy forums (I just started posting here) and I was wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of some other good philosophy forums in addition to this one. I generally post in this one http://thevaselines.co.uk/forum/ the quality of posts is pretty good it just needs more users, hence why I’m interested in finding some other forums to post on.
well, to be honest, I was banned from PhilosophyForums.com, but for good reasons (I was nuissaance to all of the serious people there, and I didn’t even realize it).
They have a fairly large number of members of all flavors, and you’d probably like it. But, I recently visited it not too long ago, and discovered that the overall “feeling” had turned very “political” between the admin, mods, & members. Not horrible, though.
Otherwise, I’d recommend that you stay here. ILP is probably one of the finest philosphy-disscusion boards on the internet. I like it here because ILP manages to convey an “comfortable” atmosphere (especially to newbies), but never compromises the deep philosophical conversations in the process. 
Fuck Philosophy Forums. Some jealous son of a bitch banned me before I had time to really post. I signed up as Smooth and then as Smoothini and they banned me twice. Really fuck them. They are on a message board high horse because they got 7,000 drones in their boards. They feel they must smite those that don’t abide by their ways.
Fuck Philosophy Forums. Stay in ILP if you want philosophy.
I’m not going to list more boards though, there is another thread on this board, scroll up and down through the few pages here in Mundane. You’ll see it. It either has the same name as this thread or similar. There are links there.
lol, I must chuckle, Smooth…you can’t say I didn’t warn you. 
Like I had said to you, once Paul or DarkCloud or even Distortion got wind that some new member signed-up just to post yet another topic on BMW-Guy, you’d be banned, and your thread would be locked or removed.
I’ve probably caused Paul more unintentional heartache as the result of my bannishment than PF has ever seen before! I mean, I got banned back in mid-April…and the members still can’t forget my name…
sheesh, I never thought my being a nussaince there had been that bad. 
However, I will admit, the admins over there are a bit trigger-happy when it comes to banning someone. They never used to be like this until it seems like just these last few months.
I know at least 7 different old-timer members from PF who have been banned in the last month…all because they supposedly “were not contributing enough to the forums”. And these 7 people were so popular there, that when they were banned, many other members volunteerily left as well with them.
Oh well, I guess it just means more potential members for ILP.

Yeah I’ve been on philosophy forums a couple of times, it’s not particularly welcoming and didn’t make much of an impression.

Philosophy Forums is now going to be reffered to as “Those we don’t speak of.”

PF has three decent members:
- Gassendi1
- Dreamweaver
- Socrastein
the rest are stuck-up…well…dolts. But still, PF is my true home. I spent my life there from like november until april. I used to go on there at 5:00 am, and would stay on for hours.

I could not have said that better…now, I’m not saying that they were wrong to ban me—I do realize I did deserve it. I was brand-new to forums at that time, and I didn’t fully understand all of the “given” unsaid rules that everyone is supposed to abide by. I don’t blame the admin for banning me—he did what was in the best intrest of his board. But, he did not just stop the banning after me…he then proceeded to ban several others who were good, long time posters that had allways contributed much to the value of the philosophical threads. I think that he thinks that he isn’t going to do himself harm by banning only 20 of his 5,680+ members…
little does he know, those banned members go to other philosophy board (like ILP), and end-up telling would-be potential PF sign-ups, who then are turned-away from joining his board.
Plus, the remaining members on PF then take up arms against the admin and start multiple threads asking why they were banned. They are not given a proper response, and as a result, leave PF in anger and never come back.
Or, in the case of Smooth, the admin will ban those who dare to start-up such threads. It’s a self-feeding process.
PF does have some great people though…

on thementalrevolution.net I placed up a links page. If you were to click on the XXI Affiliates the links page will come up. Well anyway if you click on Philosophy ( thementalrevolution.net/xxi/philosophy.htm ) and then click on Mad Philosophers you will find something interesting. Instead of typing the URL as madphilosophers.com I put madphilosopher.com and you get some rapper. LOL, funny thing is, is that I liked his rhymes and bought the tape. LOL!
