PANDORA

Pandora,

Let’s talk about kissing.

But first, where were we? Oh yes, pain and pleasure. Could it be that rape is a reflection of a possible ‘older form’ of sex where the male is playing the part of aggressor-inflicting-pain and the female is the victim-enduring-pain? When it was stated that victims of rape are more likely to become pregnant, why is that? It could be that this possible ‘older form’ of sex was somehow more successful to counteract the fact that the switch to frontal sex may of had low rates of copulation. As human sexuality advanced though, ‘rape’ was not socially cohesive to early humans. If a woman feels brutalized and unsafe around a male that she has to socialize with day-in and day-out, especially while maintaining sexual relationships with another man (or men), then this can create social problems between her and other men and between the other men themselves…

Ok second, on to kissing! Yes, let’s… talk about it that is. Maybe it was the case that as sex developed to the frontal position, people began kissing more. I mean, they’re already face-to-face and some forms of kissing were already in play beforehand (licking habits expressed in other mammals). So, in some way kissing evolved! Maybe this is what initially confused the normal reaction of aggression to make sex pleasurable. Kissing is pleasurable. Sex may or may not have been in regards to psychologically experiencing being attacked…

I know this is all rhetorical, but I think there’s a lot of potential here.

If you’re not Pandora and you’re responding to this thread with nothing of value–then bugger off! =P~

…I love a blossoming romance

There was a study that was done a while ago that analyzed the relationship between a woman’s cycle (hormonal changes) and her choice of clothing to wear. The study found that as a female was about to ovulate, she dressed “sexier” and became more “bold”. A woman’s (revealing) dress (and possibly her demeanor) could potentially influence the rapist’s decision.

Well, the primary evolutionary purpose of lips is associated with food. Lips gather sensual data about the edibles and help to move food into the mouth. Interestingly, there are some species of animals in which the male would approach the female with an offer of food (nuptial gift) and while the female is distracted by eating food, the male would copulate with her. There might be some connection between kissing and mouth-to-mouth feeding.

 Sorry, Real, I am not available.
But it’s still cool to see other people suddenly getting envious around here.

I hope you don’t mean me, P?

I thought this thread was sweet…

I would make an estimated guess that the behavior of women who are menstrating also make ‘riskier’ choices in terms of increasing their chances to have sex, consciously or unconsciously. Maybe due to a hormone balance X, a woman would be more likely to walk through a dangerous alley alone, or go home with a ‘shady’ guy, than with hormone balance Y. Who knows though?

Well yes I can see how lips evolved for that reason, but I was talking about the evolution of human kissing to counteract feelings of panic during sex to override them with feelings of pleasure…

I can’t know that unless I try, right?

Well, I don’t know. Maybe the male had to approach the female with an apple in his mouth. Then one thing led to another…and viola! We had kissing.
I mean, why do lovers feed each other, and tease each other with food?

are you a female, pandora?

yes
