She is here only because you seemed to be telling us above that you were leaving ILP because of something that didn’t happen between the two of you. But here you are, still among us.
I used to be a Communist. Then a Marxist-Leninist. Then a Trotskyist. Then a socialist. Then a democratic-socialist. Then a social democrat.
In other words, politically, I used to be an objectivist. But not anymore. So there is discussing Communism in the context of Marx’s assessment of political economy down through the ages. Then the actual historical trajectory rooted not in the industrial West but in peasant and agrarian nations.
And then all those other things that are not my main concern. That being this: morality here and now, immortality there and then.
I am now basically the exact opposite of those who think of themselves as an “ist” in an “outspoken, unapologetically ideological objectivist” manner.
“I” am a moral nihilist fractured and fragmented by way of this:
If I am always of the opinion that 1] my own values are rooted in dasein and 2] that there are no objective values “I” can reach, then every time I make one particular moral/political leap, I am admitting that I might have gone in the other direction…or that I might just as well have gone in the other direction. Then “I” begins to fracture and fragment to the point there is nothing able to actually keep it all together. At least not with respect to choosing sides morally and politically.
And that certainly includes my thinking “here and now” about Communism.
You have to explain why, when an outspoken, unapologetically ideological objetivist started posting here, instead of your usual fragmented self conundrum, you met him with “good luck!” And when he said, “thanks comrade!” you were happy to leave it at that. These things are important.
And, obviously, that is the reason you came here. Not any interest in my love life.
That’s not “ex-.” That’s “practicing.”

No, that’s what you call practicing. Or “practicing”.
I’m sticking with the point I made above:
I am now basically the exact opposite of those who think of themselves as an “ist” in an “outspoken, unapologetically ideological objectivist” manner.
“I” am a moral nihilist fractured and fragmented by way of this:

The part you ignored completely.
No, my son. It is you who ignored this:
You have to explain why, when an outspoken, unapologetically ideological objetivist started posting here, instead of your usual fragmented self conundrum, you met him with “good luck!” And when he said, “thanks comrade!” you were happy to leave it at that. These things are important.

Looks like we’re stuck then.
Alright my commie brother, thanks for stopping by.
Just a recap:
Anyone: I think this.
Iamcommunist: but what on “Earth” does that mean? Bla bla bla fragments blabla Descartes bla bla and then maybe we can begin to ellucidate bla bla you objectivists bla bla bla.
Communist: This is the absolute objective truth.
Iamcommunist: Cheers brother.
What I loved most about it is that nobody even called you out! Your name wasn’t even mentioned! A guy simply started spouting the most barbaric, clearly objectivist communist shit and you, of your own volition, took time off of your day to offer him a high five.
It was magical.
I will never let you forget it. OK fuck it I might.

Note to others:
You’re probably not wondering how I am able to reduce Kids and objectivists of his ilk down to posting glop like this. So I’m not going to tell you.
Just thought I’d retrieve this for the archives.

listen,
I can discuss this with you, in good faith
but you’re going to have to do away with such poetic licenses
as to say
““art” that gives us 5 minutes of enjoyment only to return to a cage”
i just have to assume you’re not in a cage right now
unless it’s a damn fancy cage
with wifi and which allows electronic devices
you also can’t come at me saying that the only thing your mother has done for you
was to make you into a “self-deluded, willing gear”
how about some fucking respect for the people
who literally wiped shit from your ass when you couldn’t do it yourself?
because that won’t make you sound like a revolutionary
that makes you sound like a goddamn brat
also you can stop right there at the well organized capitalist enemy
because soviet russia wiped the floor with all of europe during ww2
by simple merit of having more soldiers than the others had bullets
paired with their typical complete disregard for human life
what brought them down wasn’t their “enemy”
it was their utter incompetence, corruption, and impracticality of this entire theory
so go on
talk like you have a point to make
not like you’re trying to rile up an audience
because you don’t have one
Note to robolutionary:
This is just how she is. A “student” of Satyr. If you don’t accept her take on Marxism and everything else, she basically holds you in contempt.
She tried that with me but I infuriated her to the point that she “foed” me. And that’s a shame because not only is she super intelligent but she’s up there with promethean75 when it comes to witty/caustic repartee.
Good luck with her. It will be entertaining if nothing else.
Thank you comrade!
Funny how you gave such an outspoken objectivist a free pass iam!
I was like all ready to retort to your fragmentation spiel with robolutionary, was looking forward to the challenge!
But no such challenge was issued. Objectivism suits you, when it is marxist objectivism.

Though, sure, let him live in a la la land reality “in his head”. Where thinking or saying something is true is all that it takes to make it true.
You also never replied to this:
Not when it comes to Marxism. Demonstrably.
I was sure you were gonna say something when I called you comrade. Like “hey, listen, I used to be a communist, but now I’m all into this dasein thing, but good luck anyway kid!”

What’s any of this have to do with me sharing robo’s views about Communism? This is me pointing out my own reaction to phoneutria.
