Pessimism

Well, yeah. Could you tell me what’s the problem? The moment you were conscious of it, you hated life, and now you’re trying to find a door. But there is no door, who cares if there is no door?

People say that the summation of history was the creation of God so that humans do not wipe themselves out. I think the summation of history is that humans created God because they were too intelligent to face death and pain in this world.

Now let the arguing begin.

Well, life with an idea of God is certainly better than life without an idea of God. If there is no door and no God, why not create one?

Why not- if it doesn’t matter either way? I mean, nobody wants to suffer through their existence.

  2. anyone smart enough to sell passage…

I don’t hate life. Sometimes I suppose I’m not very fond of it. But that usually subsides. Here I am sharing thoughts to Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata and, for the moment, all is right.

I’m almost always happy.

I’m having difficulty understanding you… is this an argument for pessimism?

Because you will go to the grave having lived one big lie…

Why is there a need to say this though?

Yeah, I mean it doesn’t really do anything to believe in it anyway, you will still be as sad and angry as ever. Dream-worlds are not really dream-worlds.

Yes, there is no need to lie.

But a happy lie.

Really, explain to me why it is important a person doesn’t live ‘one big lie’.

If there is no Truth out there and, in the end, it wouldn’t even matter either way, then what is so “bad” about having lived “a lie”?

…and where did all this righteousness come from, anyway?

Well no, there is no righteousness, you would have put yourself down in the end and realise there was no point in believing while this world enslaved you. There is nothing “bad” about lying, other than continuing this world of pain and tautology that doesn’t accomplish anything for us being in it.

Our existence is tautology, from our truth most certainly. You are lying to yourself because yourself is locked away by cushions, and it wants to come out.

What is this hidden “yourself” entity you are talking about?

What is it like?

I love taking the piss with you people…

The “you” that hates life and can’t deal with it, nor will he/she be accepted for it. You give up 3/4 of yourself in this world to be like other people.

yeah, we all like to believe in Santa

This sounds to me like defensive pessimism.

I think both passionate pessimism, as well as optimism that most societies embrace are defense mechanisms against life.

I think long time ago people figured this life out (probably by the time they started creating afterlife beliefs). However, instead of moping around their caves, or committing mass suicides, they decided that it would be better to give their kind something to live for and to look forward to. Yes, people started to create “lies” and protecting these lies also became important, but it was these human creations/ideas that moved the civilizations forward.

Here is where difference between optimism and pessimism lies, one is proactive and the other is passive. Both can be used in an attempt to decrease suffering, except one also gets things done (emphasis here is on action). It is on the account of these “lies” that you are reading this on your computer screen.

Not Father Christmas, but certainly that life is wonderful definetly.

No, it sounds more like a natural occurence that happens.

I’m not really about pessimism in that sense, more like the eclipsion of humanity.

Yes, it was objectification of our dream-worlds to enable the grave mistake we call “society” to move foward, even the dolphins have more sense than that.

Yes they can, but this “pessimism” is fighting back against the world that enslaved and beated us with it’s cruel whip of delusions, encouraging us to do evil upon one another just so that you could relieve a bit of pain that was so meaningless there was no point in doing it.

You people do know that life deep down really does suck. We are put here in this place, and we are ordered to eat, breathe, sleep and other things. We aren’t all that different; we are the same, we have the same mechanisms.

I know that all of you know that. But, I also know that humans including myself, like to think differently. We want to believe in other things to cover up all the negativity of mankind.

I know that life isn’t that good. We’re all born, we all die eventually. But, you can cover it up, by poistive energies.
