The word philosophy comes from the Greek φιλοσοφία (philosophia), which literally means love of wisdom.

I know of no better example of the display of the pure love of wisdom than the I Love Philosophy Forums.

In Ancient Greece, the sophists were a category of teachers who specialized in using the tools of philosophy and rhetoric for the purpose of teaching aretê — excellence, or virtue. For those Hellenistic Greeks Sophia was the personification of wisdom.

Each and every active member, to varying degrees literates their perception of the love of wisdom for our entire humanity to see. And we do it, collectively, solely, for the love of wisdom.

Each verbalization is an untruth. Yet untruth, when understood, can be used as a tool, a tool to point to a greater truth. Each greater truth unlocking a new perception, each perception tested, toned & tooled.

We don’t publish our love of wisdom for money. Fortune or fame is not our goal. What is happening now at the I Love Philosophy Forum has never happened within the history of man. This happening is beyond unusual.

The I Love Philosophy Forum is an intellectual snapshot taken by a naked spirit.

Hey, what is this, a display emotionalism? One thing I don’t agree with “Each verbalization is an untruth”. Is that an untruth also? Then that must mean at least some verbalizations are truths. If it isn’t an untruth and is true, then how is each verbalization being an untruth actually true if the standard is set that it must be an untruth? How dare you.

ALL verbalizations are an estrangement of reality.

ALL verbalizations are untrue when compared with the Truth.

ANYTHING that can be intellectually conceived has an equally valid and opposite position that must exist.

Actually, a great example that I had seen recently goes something like this,

“Each verbalization is an untruth”.
That is an untruth also.
That must mean at least some verbalizations are truths.
If it isn’t an untruth and is true, each verbalization being an untruth is actually true.
The standard is set.
That it must be an untruth.

It seems the answer I was looking for here was 1, but you have shown me something different, that 1x1 does not equal 4. To you, I give you an A++++. Congratulations, I’m sure you will make a brilliant mathematical professor one day, as you equally valid answer is just fabulous.

What is the opposite of existence?
And please don’t fall for that “non-existence” response. That is not an OPPOSITE. “Non-existence” is merely a LACK, not an opposite. Zero is not the opposite of 3.

And with that in mind, what is the opposite of a 3 legged stool?
Again, don’t merely spout something that is DIFFERENT. A difference is not an OPPOSITE.

:-What’s my philosophical (thoughts) on philosophy( life). If we in the world still kill rape have war pillage and the like, when we we understand peace? What does the love of wisdom have to do with chaos? To me the word wisdom means understanding. We love chaos more than peace? What is love in this (of wisdom)? So wisdom means instead, love of understanding? We love chaos more than understanding? The word philosophy seems to be a misnomer. Maybe the word discipline should be used in it’s (philosophy) place? Thoughts? PL
