Hi,

Having tried to organise some impromptu online chats it seems that they don’t really work. So instead we’re opening up the chat channel 24 hours a day so that people can pop in and chat or idle to their hearts content. Perhaps this way it will become more popular and people will find out about the site from the channel as well as vice-versa. You can get to the channel via our java applet on the IRC page (link on the left) or start up your favourite IRC client and connect to /server irc.blitzed.org and then /join #philosophy.

Good Idea, ben! One suggestion, though:

Is it possible to put a little box on the forums-index screen that says:

“so-and-so is in the chat room right now”? That way, people would know if there was anyone in there to talk to. Just a humble suggestion, anyway. :wink:
