Philosophy of Poetry (a Poem)

In the end

there are only two
human
motivations

[love and fear]

representing,
(therefore),

– in its entirety –

the available subject matter
of,
or motivation
behind,

poetry.

all else
…is
…word
…placement.

.

Having nothing to do with the ongoing discussions around here about form. Merely about content – motivation and how (or why) it is reflected by those who put pen to paper

I’d go with compassion and hatred as the two motivations

You should see the movie Donnie Darko. It attacks directly the statement of your poem. (I’m with Donnie on this one).
