Philosophy the definition of

 Everyone has their definition of what they think philosophy is. Mine is understanding. Before there was Aristotle there was those who observed questioned and drew a conclusion of what they saw and there conclusion was there understanding. I love philosophy because it makes me question what I do not know or understand and then it is clear to me without doubt. Thoughts please? pljames

If there’s no doubt, you’re doing it wrong!!!

Not really. While I’d agree it has far-reaching implications, the term itself, ‘philosophy,’ has a fairly standard-fare definition.

“Philosophy is understanding”? No. I don’t think so. Not trying to be a jackass, just saying philosopy - one’s “life goal” or “life practice” - is quite discernible from understanding proper. I understand that the world’s fucked up; that the world’s fucked up is not my philosophy, yeah?

I have no objection to this. You could probably leave Aristotle out of it, though.

I think you’re confusing philosophy with curiosity here. Or something.

Best of luck.
