Please help

Dear Philosophy Forum Members,
I am a professional gamer and I need your help decing on an alias. Please make a suggestion and say why you believe it is a good choice.

Also, what are your opinions on the alias “Cypher”?

Thank you for taking the time to read this and your help,

I don’t know. I think “Unnamed Player” is pretty good.

If a person likes a username, its likely that they’re already using it. Additionally, they may want to keep their second favourite names to themselves for use elsewhere?

I think you should decide what image you want your name to project: superhero, ancient greek/roman, mythical, modern philosopher etc then research from there.

Just stick all the words from a common phrase together to make a new word, it worked for me…

And you can pretend that it means something metaphorical. You’d be amazed at how many think that my pseudonym is meaningful

Well now that we know it’s not… chuckle

I could have been lying before…

I like the opposite. Rather than giving a name of someone whom I want to project, I like being a contradiction to what my name projects. I like Bessy because it projects a school marm… thennnn, when Bess has fun with whips, leather and some rank language it makes the persona more interesting. I am a bit of Bess, a mom, a showgirl, and have an edge that I am proud of… I am too sensitive and Bessy is too.

Bessy gets dragged into conversations that she shouldn’t be liking, which is why Xeno and his flock are fascinating. Ah, the weak moments of forum life.

The Gamesmaster.

But you should choose your own idea.

alliterated absurdity is amusing.

You could consider the most complex of all. Just be yourself.

Make your name “I died” or “i_died!”

Then if you shoot someone and they’re like “who shot me?” everyone will say “i died!”

how about “gluteus maximus”?

equine gluteus maximus is even better

How about naming yourself after a character from a favourite TV show or film?

I’ve got plans to name my children in this manner but I doubt any wife I might take would be happy to have kids called Humphrey, Bernard and Lisa.
