poem -- rest

rest

talk while sleeping
sleep walk and count sheepy things not soft and not
deep look at thoughts born of more tales swallowed by whales blind snails write books stale enough to make bail impaled on living room
nailpictures that succeeded and failed
knocked flat protoplasm didn’t hold onto his hat this and that got fat splat lie around and to spouse
clean mossy mess tosses in dresser bought for less remorseful horses from west bring guests
gather round ingest get blessed impressed
suggest jest guess who smells the best
used zest a pest banged chest ate less at alls behest
the fest of confession so hard to digest
rest
say can’t be right be wrong be writing all night long insightful songs sleeping dog likes as long as barked dark but no bite marks sparks kept away from harsh light toe stubbed hair froze
share foes turn down nose
close window spurn sandaled woman who sins with candle after school scandal
before work wondering jerk
continuing kingdoms hurt refuse then short order cooking on small mountain with beard scared dared to be weird not lawyer tom sawyer
big surprise veal and thighs gray cornmeal pies despise wheel of fortune brought torture contortion and pride original cliché
no listening no feeling the truth no glistening reveal or kneeling of youth eschewing ceilings too close or too closed two nut shells exposed
taking fake notes stuffing votes
suffering woes losing forty-nine states winning remaining altered one exalted boy faulted none
finds joy toy under tree fun glee go sun go poison reason preying on blindly chosen smart children
now embracing reasons to start betraying treason and trying to love prison.
