this is a poem that I wrote for school, which is about a white dove that is falling and on a collision course with the pavement. it has to do with two nations or factions at war that both look to the white dove as a sign of peace, but as they fight over the white dove they are killing it.
O white dove of holy flight,
Where do you conflict?
O white dove of the blinding light,
Why must pain to you constrict?
O white dove, emblem
Of our Hopes and Gears,
Wherefore art thou divided?
Why are your tears?
O great dove, unglided,
I raise my white flag to thee,
Underneath this black and blue sky, collided
With the pavement and our country,
‘Tis of thee.
