The US is proof that democracy can work. It goes astray at times, but eventually corrects itself. But this is only because it has a thoroughly healthy populace or, in any case, one where citizens are capable of thinking in healthy ways as owners, as proprietors.
In most other places, this is not the case. In Europe, for example, it is almost impossible to find a person that doesn’t think of themselves rather as a vassal, whose interest and concern is in finding the most benevolent possible master.
This is why democracy in Europe produces the most psychotic abominations, why it is perennially in a state of profound conflict, at times devastating military conflict, always on the edge of consuming or being consumed. Their economics, in terms of state policy, are inevitably destructive and envious. There lacks the pride, the self- assurance to think of themselves as actors rather than victims.
In my opinion, the only viable political system in Europe is some form of absolutist monarchy, where maybe at times there is some kind of plebiscite inquiring on the opinion of its vassals on how well they are treated.
If the US made one big mistake, it was in not realizing that by bringing Europe close to its bossom as it lifted it up from the ashes of its socialist mania (WWII), it stood in the way of monarchy, of an independent, self assured, powerful, sane, and healthy Europe, capable of playing a role and being constructive.
The Soviet Union then would have been much more incentivized to prod and attack it, making NATO and US military cover a concrete necessary reality, rather than an oppressive dream, and the relationship of help would have been founded on real pivot points, rather than filial submissiveness.
The US, too, would have reduced its military activity to the strict necessities, as they would now be helping a competitor or an equal, rather than an oppressed child.
In part due to the socialist nature of post-Rooseveltian governments, in part simply because it is not an easy lesson to learn for a person who thinks of themselves as a sovereign to understand that a person can think of another as their sovereign.
That leaving them to monarchy would not be an insult, as it would be felt to be if coming the other way.
Because truth is, the literal opposite is the case
Maybe you would know, if you lived there.. but OK let’s have some quiet silly time for the absurdities of the Ages. That we have the unfortunate ‘pleasure’ of having to live through
I just could. not. help. myself with this batch of total crap.
How can you even say shit like this, with a straight face? Or maybe you were laughing as you wrote it.
I don’t know why you despise Europe but please do not idolize America or its people or politics. There is perhaps nothing more insidious, evil and fucking silly. The UK is far bad enough, as one person said it is hard to imagine a nation hating its people more than the UK, but America does come to mind.
…what is this Stockholm syndrome you have now? Now you said something about monarchy, ok maybe we can talk, except those days are long lost to this hyper-capitalist world that you somehow idealize.
Wake up, see the world you live in. Accept truth or… don’t, and keep groping for something that leaves at least a bit of an impression of meaning within sophisticated words Also your analysis of history is weak as usual.
Then again, if I were Venezuelan I might Stockholm simp too for a western capitalist display of, erm, “powwer” (?), I mean, at this point anyway or all things equal in any such and allcases as they might be anyway.
And why waste words on the wasted? “Less think, more drink” amirite?
America!!! Global hegemon of a Glorious Capitalism!!!
Oh yes, the smartest people on earth. Meanwhile oppressing everyone around them including my own country, but who cares because its not.. America! The glorious “democracy” right? Where “the people” have the power
Is there supposed to be a difference between political left and right in America? What about in the UK, or where you are?
How much legitimate “socialism” even exists in the world anymore? If you seriously think any of these western governments or cabals of rich think the “social” is valuable and worth preserving, you might question their actions over the last century and more. Or maybe just look out a window. See the fruits of their actions.
Democracy exists as an excuse to let the rich pillage the planet. That is far so simply obvious at this point I would absolutely question the honesty and intention of anyone who cannot even admit as much in their attempts at political or philosophical analysis.
But we already know you know all this, amirite? So… next?
The so called liberal left in the United States and much of western Europe included is a false left. Purely controlled political opposition to put up zero resistance against capitalism.
Likewise, democracy is fake and not real. Everybody in the political electorate controlled and voting being mere fake theatrics for public consumption of the dumb idiot masses.
Although if you ever go to the Midwest traveling there is a place called Spanglers that makes the most delicious mushroom swiss sourdough burger. They then drench it with brown gravy as a topping afterward. It’s like eating mana from heaven with every bite.
I uhh… am not sure what you mean by democracy… at this stage…
Is it better than the situation in europe? Oh by all means, but… if we are talking about the actual definition of democracy then you cannot be serious.
The country where one party imports it’s voters and your voting eligibility is “proven” with Gym membership cards, where states deny access to ballot and voting verification, where dogs and dead people go to vote en mass and where one side of the political aisle gets to stage literally anything from city wide arson attacks to armed occupation of streets and even storming the whitehouse… that is your measure of a functioning democracy…?
I will happily admit that europe is becoming a dictatorial sovietunion 2.0
No question about it
But the notion that democracy works in the usa… you cant be serious my man… the amount and extent to which that system is corrupted is borderline comical.
And thats before we even go into the more serious problems, like how your “democratic” representatives wake up every 3-24 months and see that there is no coffee, so they slap their knee and bomb a country to shit without ever asking a single fucking soul about it.
Cause apparently democracy is like wheel of fortune. You spin it each time the sun rises and sometimes its coffee and at others its a random 4 million people death toll over made up WMDs hidden in a country.
Well, a vassal, and their lord, hate nothing more than a proprietor, an owner. The idea of belonging to one’s self is disgusting to them. Same way the opposite is disgusting to the free man.
My point is, though, that enmity only exists when either type does not have a strong foundation of their principles. Europe is consumed with hate of the US, because it has no proper monarchies, nothing to ground its pride on. So it turns to spite.
The US, on the other hand, is free, populated by free people. So you will only find hate there among the socialists. Free people who are free inside and live in a free country will find no reason to hate people that live a life that to them would be disgusting.
