He keeps playing the same 4 strings nonstop, so I do not think he can play and I certainly don’t think he can play well. What a sham…

This is obviously not a violinist at all, but a violist, playing Wagner. The Meistersinger of Nurnberg, I believe. Wagner loved music, but hated musicians, and wrote such that most of the time, all but the first violins and the occasional trumpet player is languishing in a droning repetition of just a few notes. He appears to be playing in the open, or maybe first position. That would be either a-d-a-d-g–d. Or maybe b-e-b-e-a–e. I’m thinking about three quarters of the way through the piece, during a molto mosso section.
Or, it could be the entire fiddle line to a Dixie Chicks tune. Hard to say from here.
