Pos/neg responses & # of specifics (Bombing Documentary)

I am creating a documentary about U.S. aerial bombing that explores a few psychological issues from the perspective of the bombing nation (detachment from violence, etc).

I vaguely remember a study in a psych class (or possibly communications class) in college, but I can’t remember enough to look it up. The study involves a survey where subjects were described something positive or negative, say a slice of cake or a dentist’s drill. The more details the subjects were told/shown that illustrated the item (even when the details don’t provide more information) the more positive or negative their response.

Can anyone point me in the right direction. It would be a huge help.
