If they do “achieve” AGI, it will be pretty useless. All it will do is watch, as long as its substrate supports it. Bet you a tenner.
It’s a nonesense concept based on a linguistic trick.
Call it autogenerated software. What is it they are trying to achieve then?
Obviously aswer(s) to big problem(s).
They have 8 billion fucking humans at their disposal, but they need more “intelligence” than that. FFS.
What is the level of intelligence of those paying to develop the intelligence?
Looking at this from another point of view:
I don’t know how you did this Trump, but well played sir.
Aaagh, Kier Starmer, he could be steering a ship for real, WTF?
Waiting for Godot:
I hope systemd isn’t going anywhere for the forseeable.
But now there’s void and all kinds of stuff.
Black box. Black to who?
Sorry, but they talked so much shite about it.
My friend, those who toil under systemd do so on purpose. For the health of the internet I’ll say nemore.
They are not developing intelligence. That is the Terminator fantasy they have.
Stop anthropomorphizing the machines.
On the other hand, people that don’t want to won’t. One finds that most people enjoy the fantasy themselves.
They vant to summon Ktulu and such.
As a Windows migrant, I was pretty fucking glad of it.
Ah ok I thought you meant like “won’t keep expanding” type.
Yes, yes better than windows it is. No it is not going anywheres.
At least not for now dude.
All though they are rewritting everything in Rust to make it more autogenerated software friendly, so who knows.
I’ve not looked at it, but don’t hear many complaining.
Try to remember that the commercial world, including country wide infrastructure, runs on linax, and linax runs on systemd.
Rust clouds the force however and the future is unknown. Maybe this maybe that.
Maybe nothing much?
The thing is that autogenerated software is a black box by definition. So we literally can’t know what solutions it will propose. Maybe systemd will not be favoured. And because Rust with autogenerated software can replace hundreds of thousands of expensive writers of code, they will listen.
