Proof of absolute truth worked out!

All philosophical problems set to be solved!

Proof is here

I understand now!!

It -is- Spinoza!

Why didn’t anybody tell me about this sooner?

It’s so simple. You only have to let go and it becomes obvious.

When I saw the title of this thread, I immediately thought PoR had posted it.

after reading the quality of the argument, now im sure of it. :stuck_out_tongue:

Come on, 36 views and only 5 replies. I would have thought that a topic of this nature would have generated more comment.

We’re philosophers. If there was a thread that presented absolute truth, we’d have to either delete it or look for a new pastime.

It’s for this reason I’m sort of scared of the rate of technological/scientific progress.

I mean… I don’t think we want to know what’s at the end of that road.

Actually, I only checked out this thread 'cause I thought it was PoR.

At first, I was frustrated by his philosophy, now I get it. It’s like Mel Gibson’s ‘The Patrior’ one of the most underrated comedies ever.

Stop hijacking the damn thread!

That’s the most profound discovery man has made about himself in the past century! :sunglasses:

here is the absolute truth I have invented. “All there is to life is what you do. Everything else is just circumstancual.”

I am me, unless you can spiritually put yourself into my body. And take over my body. forcing me out of my body. Then the physical definition of me has changed to me - the body.

Absolutly,… no one will be able to tear apart my quote in the next five minutes. If it happens in the next five minutes,… then they didn’t think it through enough. If they do it after the next five minutes,… then I still doubt they will have logically torn apart my quote as being absolutly true in every possiable circumstance.

???

I don’t think there are any ‘important’ absolute truths. All the absolute truths out there are boring old things like 'a+b = b+a" or “step on a crack, break your mother’s back”. Anything profound, that would really make a person content or change how they lived, will always been irritatingly nebulous and controversial.

#-o i still dont’ get it? what’s the guy travelling towards? going back home? but wasn’t HE the one that LEFT home in the first place? :astonished: i’m lost

Our meaning has a lot to do with what created us and what “works” in the “system”. I always say “The truth can’t hurt you, but lies can make you feel better.” and now I wonder if even the truth can “hurt” us more deeply then an insult. People [usually] fight with others in order to defend their own opinions. Socrates was killed and hated for what main reason? What if the truth is too much for anyone to really handle?

Once we stop having opinions and just have our facts, what will we be? We use our “logical support” to fule our confidance in a system of principals and plans.

“You are an idiot” is not a solution but the first step of awareness. If the awareness of the organisms mass of weaknesses all were to hit it in one big jolt, it would hurt and shock it. We can’t really handle that. We can’t really handle watching a person die, for example.
How does it feel to be defeated and helpless?

Pain is the scream that awakens the mind
To the fact that it is mortal.

As i have said before:
We are born crying out to the universe for help and unconditional love.
This does not change with time.
I love you.

Alas! Our life is absolutely absurd! Every single part of it is. Why?
Our foundation was chance, evolution. Our foundation was all about cause and effect. Evolution is a blind king running towards extravigance, then falling into a pit of dieing and futile power that could never let him see. If he did not decay and die, then he would have enough time to grow new eyes for the mind. This would be enough forsight to see that the only solution would be to get beyond cause and effect, but what happens? All of his power and everything he has was given to him because of his passed and because of cause and effect.

Now the second evolution takes the stage.
Why would the mind be able to realize that life is so absurd? If we were not capable of wanting something more then this, and were not capable of knowing that there could or should be something better then this, then why would we ever think that the system is so absurd?
Why?
Let me tell you:
Initially evolution was fueled by physical and for physical. It was blind. Now evolution exists within the mind and within data. It can see. We have basicly got to the point in which we have no real problems, and we [can] realize that we are the problem. The problem is no longer all around us, but it is inside of us, because our environment is now our species.

Our main problems: [of the species, that I know of]
We are consuming our environment instead of being self sufficient.
Individuals and all character evolution is personaly lost per generation.
Our weapons are too powerful.
Social mutations made elites that feed off of stupidity and fuel it.

I think that independance from the environment would be our greatest goal. I think that our worst enemy is still our own weakness and our own stupid roots.

I said too much and now I will wait for critisism…

< does this not mean that we are scared to know the “ultimate truth”? and doesn’t it also mean that we want in part to be ignorant? If we want to be ignorant then we will commit evil, as Plato and Socrates have said, that ignorance is at the root of all evil and the truth is the good. If we turn away from the truth, we turn away from the good and turn evil. This “ignorance is bliss” mindset is, why i believe that our whole world is in so much pain and evil, because people dont’ want to know the truth, they rather stay ignorant. Well i’m not sure how others will feel but i think that truth should b the most valued and important aspect of our lives and it goes hand in hand with knowledge, justice, wisdom and the good of this world.

I’m amazed that some sort of actual discussion has broken out - thus demonstrating that perhaps we’re taking the wrong route by actually asking for opening posts that contain informed views and sound arguments. Post nonsense and sense will eventually develop, seems to be the rule…
