I’ve always engaged philosophy improperly.
My first mistake was a false presumption. I blindly believed that other people in the world were like me. I slowly learned that this was a complete falsity. Not only was a small minority of people similar to me, but ultimately, nobody is like me. I am a complete individual in sole aspect. My willpower purely focuses on philosophy, wisdom, knowledge, and truth. Maybe a small number of humans share these values with me, on this planet. But of this small amount of people, who are at least interested in philosophy, none of them love philosophy. None of them need philosophy and wisdom. None of them are willing to sacrifice for philosophy. So I separate myself from those interested in philosophy, and move onto those obsessed with philosophy. Obsessed with learning, debating, investigating, knowing the ultimate, absolute truths. Immersion into pure logic. No contradictions of thought, a flowing of complete rationality, and beautiful reasons.
Oh so beautiful reason.
Reason is the truth, the true weapon of philosophy. So few people have reasons in their lives, reasons to live, meaning, purpose. Most people are rather stupid, banal, boring, short sighted, blind, unthinking, uninteresting, ignorant, unlearned, and hate to think. The average human being hates thinking. This is proved by the existence and overwhelming popularity of religion. Religion is the philosophical leftovers. Great philosophers emerge in time, such as I. And these great men, great thinkers, powerful intellects, leave so much behind, for the religious minds to latch and hold onto. Philosophers create knowledge. Religions implement and preserve this knowledge. Religion is not about thinking, but believing. Religion is about blind belief. And religions need philosophy, while philosophy does not need religion.
Religion allows billions of morons to live their lives according to preset principles. These principles were first discovered and developed by wise men, ancient philosophers. So essentially, all religious belief today is proof of ancient philosophy. Very little, or nothing, changes about their fundamental thoughts and beliefs. Because religious people preserve the ancient wisdom. And religious people hate change, as well as new ideas. But then eventually a new philosopher comes along, is born, and changes everything. Some old religions are destroyed, some are changed with resistance, and some new religions are formed. That is the nature of life and the cycle of philosophy and religion, between doubt and faith, thought and belief.
I want to being philosophizing properly. It’s important to “do it rightly”, to it well, consistently, efficiently, artistically, fluidly. So many wannabe philosophers and thinkers do it improperly. They think that thinking is easy. It’s “easy” to doubt things. It’s “easy” to doubt God. It’s “easy” to doubt existence. But the problem with these pseudo philosopher, pseudo thinkers, is that they don’t know anything to begin with. You can’t doubt what you don’t know. And if you could, then you probably wouldn’t be doing it well, or properly. Because you aren’t aware of what you don’t know. To become aware of knowledge, you first have to define knowledge. And this definition is not easy nor simple to come by.
Most morons, humans, operate on instinct and reflex, emotion, like animals. Many of these humans even admit that they are animals. They claim “Yes, I am an animal.” Well, now that we’re both convinced of the fact, why does this animal believe it is any different than a monkey, dolphin, or beetle? The human animal gets confused too easily, with this question. The human admits its an animal, but doesn’t know what type of animal it is. Because if you categorize animals, then this proves discrimination, that some animals are “different” than others. And this awareness of difference represents a bias. So a contradiction emerges. The human is an “animal”, but “also a human”. This is a dualism. How can one be both a “human” and “animal” at the same time?
Forget that question. It leads into too much philosophy for your level of expertise. That goes beyond you. Instead, let’s move onto instincts, reflexes, and genes. Animals operate on instinct and reflexes, emotions, not rationality and reasons. Not logic. Reason is a human faculty, not a cognitive ability of lower animals and species. This is where the human “animals” react and say “No, that’s not true! All animals have reason and rationality and logic!” But, no, these human animals are wrong. How does a hive of bees have reason? How does a bear in the woods have reason? How does a grasshopper have reason? They don’t, they’re lower forms of life, without advanced cognition nor awareness, consciousness. Many organisms have very basic forms of consciousness, simple forms.
This demonstrates a difference of intellect. And the superior, heightened intellect, is within humanity, for the most part. The human animals, who admit they are animals, will not reject this separation between human and lower animal. Because no humans popularly sacrifice themselves, give up their lives, to save a few butterflies from death. Humans don’t cry over the bugs and insects, why not? It’s a simple question with a simple answer. There is too much organic dissimilarity. Humans do not feel “connected” to bugs and insects, as they generally and popularly do with cats or dogs, for example. There is closeness to mammals, but not other species. There are many reasons for this.
But philosophy is the highest form of intellect possible or attainable for humanity. Philosophy is the top of all hierarchies, then science which exists to prove a rationale, then religion which exists to establish that proved rationale as social doctrine and even universal law. This is done through physics, for example. A metaphysical presumption is proved through math, science, then this physical equation gets passed onto all children as canonical doctrine. Physics is its own religion. You can’t dispute a “physical law” without refuting all other laws. As it were, this is the necessary conclusion to the formation of all human laws. Philosophers know this, as proper philosophy.
The difference between proper and improper philosophy, is primarily the intent and value of the philosophy disciple. It is not enough to have a mere interest in philosophy, wisdom, knowledge, truth, reason, logic. It is not enough to value these ideals. The implementation of these ideals makes the philosophy “proper”. To what end can these ideals exist?
How are these values even possible to begin with? And this question poses the primary difference between a natural philosopher, like me, and artificial philosophers, who are players and pretenders. In other words, there are many self claimed “thinkers” who pretend to do philosophy. But they don’t truly want to dig down to the fundamental level of nature, of reality, of belief, of essence, of existence, of thought, of self reflection, awareness, consciousness, or anything. They don’t want to investigate truly. For many different reasons, they turn away from proper philosophy. They end up rejecting, and hating, what philosophy entails, which is, too much awareness and knowledge of everything.
You learn that people lie. That people operate on emotion. That people are bound by social rules. That people are rarely free or autonomous, but mostly enslaved, and furthermore enslaved by ideals they can’t comprehend. And this creates an intellectual hierarchy. And if your intellect is powerful enough to comprehend all this, then this can inundate and hold still a proper thinker and philosopher. You become mired by possibilities, reasons, rationales, logic, arguments.
While it’s true that people believe in stupid shit, far too often, and nobody doubts this, it truly says something about a person who learns the truth of this reality, let alone becomes determined to exist in it and persist through it. What is the reality of this human global world? It’s full of self proclaimed “psuedo intellectual” animals. Half awake, they call themselves by the dualism of “human” and “animal” at the same time. How do they hope to reconcile this difference?
You learn about what these concepts entail. The average moron admits that she is half free, and half enslaved. She is freed by the future, and what can come to exist, while enslaved to the past, that she is forced to remember, and cannot hope to ever change. Split apart between Permanence and Change, order and chaos.
And that’s all the human animal can really tell you, really “teach” you, about life. Because everything else, it does not own, but instead, learned from some philosopher, a hundred years ago, or a thousand.
So let’s start some proper philosophy.
