prostitution

whats the difference between prostitution and dating?

With prostitution you don’t have to pay as much for sex.

One action is undertaken by those who have lost hope, the other by those who have not.

For some ‘couples’, nothing. For some couples, everything. Women have been willing to exchange sex for money since money was invented, and men have been willing to part with money. It doesn’t exclusively happen this way round but that’s the general formula.

If you are sleeping with someone purely because they buy you dinner and presents then you are essentially no different from a prostitute. Have some more self-respect, demand at least a car or some other expensive item…

Ah, so hold on, prostitution, when legalised in the U.K. will actually be marriage? Hmmm…curious

Prostitution has many forms in itself and I think you’d be surprised by how many young, hopeful, people pay for that kind of thing outside of your country (and perhaps inside it too.)

Ben you amuse me. =D>

Ben really does wear pink.

I know that prostitution is legal in Holland, but PG what do you think of a couple that goes Dutch?

Hasnt PG already been warned about these types of threads :unamused:

They may now be in the comedy realm.

I think that they are a form of legitimate protest against ben’s slurs…

Culture and average opinion can change the meaning of any word.
“Dating” had different meaning, whilst heard 70 years ago.
Prostitution is not about friendship and long term anything,
but sexual consumers in modern times are…

actually, no comment.

As per usual the issue of male prostitution (which is even more hushed up than underage female prostitution) isn’t even mentioned…

I do wonder about the BBC, it is so hit and miss…

I generally read and listen to the BBC…it’s a bit like going to Church…reliable and safe but after a few decades you realise it’s just old habit and that ‘real life’ is going on somewhere else…

What news do you tend to read? Or do you read as many as possible - compare and contrast?

Male prostitution isn’t exactly of major interest to most of the public. In Glasgow there have been a spate of murders invovling prostitutes over the years…it is an issue that remians in debate…I for one see no problem with legalising prostitution…

Prostitution (both straight and gay) is legal here so the girls and boys have to have regular health/drug check ups plus they are protected by government anti-exploitation laws and have their own union. If they go outside this legal system, that’s a choice they make – but it’s completely unnecessary and stupid. (The legal age for sex is 16 for both straights and gays here too)

I’ve known heaps of prostitutes – and lived with two – so I find it difficult to believe the cliche about prostitutes being down trodden “victims”. (Lots of funny stories though…)

Below is a photo of “Joy”, a local street prostitute, who was honoured for her service to the community with a statue.
