One problem is that “human construct” implies something like “not natural” - as if purpose is constructed out of thin air. But if purpose isn’t a human construct, what is it? Are there more correct and less correct purposes?
I deleted part of my answer here, it seemed kind of long winded and useless. Perhaps “not merely a human construct” is good enough.
Sure. Do you see any purpose in yourself? And aren’t you part of the universe?
I feel like you’re leaving a word out. Like you don’t see any fixed purpose to the universe, or true purpose, or correct purpose, or you don’t think evolution has a goal…
i think my life is really meaningless in the big picture…it doesnt matter one bit what happens to life or the universe whatever that is…i just dont see any big purpose …there may be…if there is tell me about it…
what i am trying to say…if the universe were gone today it wouldnt mean anything…i dont see purpose to the universe…
i dont see any meaning in life…if there is tell me about it…what difference would it make if the sun was gone today…
If the sun were gone today we’d be dead. So we wouldn’t be able to consider what makes your life more or less fulfilling. Dwelling on this pseudo-question is a way of avoiding the question of how to live a more fulfilling life. And avoiding the question is a technique for not “understanding yourself, both good and bad” (to reference another thread of yours). If you start considering the question of what makes your life more fulfilling, and start experimenting in that area, you might actually start to understand the relationship between “construct” and “discovery”.
it doesnt matter…everything is irrelevant…we have no idea what is up…
what purpose is there in your life…is it determined by something in the universe…

i am also speaking about what human beings are about…they are not significant…and the sun will go out…the stars seem to do that…
actually my psychoanalyst told me that all is bullshit…that there is no meaning or purpose to the universe and life…
he advocates an existentialism based on that proposition…
