Question about global warming

I am undecided about global warming. I have read many documents about the subject. I have read many reports about the subject and the results of global warming. The deciding question I need answered to buy into the idea remains unanswered.

I have heard this weather pattern and this weather pattern are caused by global warming. This list is very long on the subject. What weather pattern would have to happen for it not to be global warming? I need a pattern that is not part of global warming so if that weather pattern happens I can know that global warming is not happening. If there is no weather pattern that can disprove global warming then all the weather patterns used to verify it is false.

I don’t want to debate the supporting evidence of global warming and if they are true or not. I only want evidence to answer my question about what is not global warming. I can’t find any answers to this anywhere.

The pattern that would show that global warming isn’t really occurring is this: global temperature does not increase significantly. #-o

So if this year’s global temperature does not increase significantly from last years then global warming does not exist? If it is actually a lower global temperature this year it is not true?

Can you find me an absolute surface temperature? NASA can’t they use a Surface Temperature Analysis which by their own admission is not useful. It only measures anomalies.

As far as I understand, all scientist think that the earth is warming. The real debate is to why. Some think its a natural cycle while others think its down to humans.

No the real debate is if it is or not. Basic logic tells you if this happens then this is occurring. If this is happening then this is not occurring. I have heard this is happening so it must be global warming. I want to know what isn’t happening for this to be occurring.

A hurricane is hitting Florida. I know this because a hurricane is in the Gulf of Mexico and bearing down on the land. If there is no hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico and sunny skies I know a hurricane is not hitting Florida. Simple test.

If we know global warming is happening we should have data or knowledge of information and weather patterns that show global warming isn’t happening. Unless you say global warming has always existed. If not what weather patterns happened to prove we weren’t having global warming. Then if those exist it isn’t happen and if the other is then we are experiencing global warming.

Without this data and information you are only saying it without logical proof of it.

A single year is obviously an arbitrary time frame for measuring temperature changes. Year by year the average global temperature may fluctuate, but over a longer period - decades, say - there’s a clearer pattern of an overall increase, more than what would be expected from chance or natural causes. Sorry I’m not a scientist and cannot give you exact figures. But a more precise answer to your question would be something this: Examine the average global temperatures per decade. Compare the figures for 2000-09, 2010-19, 2020-2029… and see if they follow the previous trend of increasing temperature. If there is no statistically significant increase (according to what mathematicians consider significant) for these upcoming decades, despite the continuing increase in carbon emission, then the idea of global warming as caused by humans is probably wrong.

Those are not absolute surface temperature. NASA uses a Surface Temperature Analysis which by their own admission is not useful. It only measures anomalies. I can’t compare decades when I can’t even get a single year’s.

I am not trying to be difficult or even argue against global warming. I only want information that says this is global warming and if this was true it would not be global warming. Seems to me a simple request. I see plenty of the prior and none of the later.

Well, which scientist says the earth is not warming. There is debate as to how much it will warm.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Inst … Record.png

That is a global anomaly chart. Read prior statement.

Is this one OK?

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Glob … ng_Map.jpg

That figure shows the difference in instrumentally determined surface temperatures between the period January 1995 through December 2004 and “normal” temperatures at the same locations, defined to be the average over the interval January 1940 to December 1980. The average increase on this graph is 0.42 °C, and the widespread temperature increases are considered to be an aspect of global warming.

Are you saying that you can’t get the temperature figures or nobody can? Do you think climate scientists pull their figures out of thin air?

Nope, still a global anomaly chart. Absolute charts do not exist only anomaly charts. You won’t find one.

What exactly is wrong with those charts? You said that NASA said they are not useful. Could you give me a link to that?

data.giss.nasa.gov/gistemp/2005/

No they use anomaly tempatures.

data.giss.nasa.gov/gistemp/abs_temp.html

It has a lot more information on the link.

NASA said:

In 99.9% of the cases you’ll find that anomalies are exactly what you need, not absolute temperatures

Correct, that is for normal use. But we are contrasting tempatures by the 0.1%.

I don’t read anywhere in that link " they are not useful"

and that information (the anomaly) is meaningful for the whole region etc…
