There’s a skywriter who sprays the heavens from time to time with witticisms and now artwork. This one, called “Rain”, is a reference to our falling dam levels.
But is it art?

thanks LA
(I like it, anyway)
My pleasure.
I love it. It’s a prayer.

I don’t know if it’s art or not. Don’t care. It’s def cool, though. Thanks for posting it.
km,
Neat stuff making clouds…
I’m just happy laying on my back in the grass finding images in the clouds above me. I’ve sometimes thought that our needs and desires are what we see in cloud images.
It never ocurred to me to make my own clouds…
No surprises there.
I guess it’s the original ink blot test: What we see is what we think, what we think is what we believe, what we believe is who we are.
Though a friend once said, “If you are what you think, then I’d be a hot blond with 38” tits".
Did you modify it in some way? If so it’s art.
And I won’t lie about what I like and don’t like. I really don’t like it all that much because, well, I’m just not into that kind of art. If I was I’m sure I’d like it because it was a good idea.
No, it’s not modified. The 'Is it art?" question was a smart-arse remark. I should have used a smilie – but smilies take away the dryness and humour witout dryness is just too sweeeeet.
km,
LOL. If you pry the lid off a man’s head, all you’ll find is a few empty beer bottles and a little furry thing running around…
I know the link below is not visual arts but it came to mind when you (tentative) were talking about lying on your back looking at the clouds.
When I was living in the country, the clouds were often so low you couldn’t do that. When the mist and clouds merged they would sink and literally crawl along the the ground. It was both beautiful and eerie.
Here’s a very short (unfortunately) video of Phantom Falls near here. It will give you an idea of what I’m talking about.

EDIT: I found a still of it:
Of course its art!
Everything that we do that results from the desire to create something unique and your own is art.
Cooking is art, gardening is art, philosophy is art, and of course ‘sky painting’ is art as well.
Don’t sell creative expression short, it may not all be amazing but all of it is still art.
P.S. I like the sky painting its funny.
km,
In S.E. Alaska, the morning clouds intermingle with rising sea mist against the backdrop of tree covered islands. It’s almost a supernatural vision and yet evokes an almost primordial sensation of connectedness to nature as nature. The gods are in the clouds…
Have you seen this yourself? Did you take any pics or seen any on the net?
I’d love to see it.
Alas, It was from many years ago, and a box of about a thousand slides were lost in a flood situation. It is almost as if I had never been there. The only images I have left are in my head, and you wouldn’t want to go there…
So many images were lost that it is truly sad. Imagine walking on sphagnum moss two or three foot deep in a forest of 200 foot tall old growth cedars with buttress roots fifteen foot in diameter. A place where sunlight never reaches the ground… There are spirits there. A presence that one feels from the toenails up…
I made many photographs there, but I never managed to record those feelings…
My graphic arts teacher once said “whether it brings a postive or negative reaction, it’s art. The only way it isn’t is if the reaction is indifferent”
So i would deff say this is art. Though you may not be the artist per se you brought it to the people. Very good. I like it.
