If you called your bank and aksed for your balance, would the person aks you to give them your whole credit card number so they can pull up your account and get that info… or just the last four numbers of the card, your name, maybe last four of your social, etc? Never before has the cat lady been aksed by a teller/rep for her whole card number. Her identity is always verified by phone number, SS number, address, etc.
Theory: the hacker has a way of jumping into a phone call to act as the receiving party of the call.
- Cat lady dials bank.
- Hacker receives real-time bank call notification.
- Hacker intercepts call and acts as a rep of the bank.
- Cat Lady becomes suspicious when hacker akses for the whole card number and hangs up.
- Asian accented fake hacker rep despairs.
