Is it possible that rape happens purely out of sexual repression?
Perhaps that is the particular problem as why rape is so pervasive in society and why treating rapists by other means seems to be fruitless because the original instigation is not addressed.
I wouldn’t say purely but it’s probably responsible for some cases.
I think you are right. I often flirted with the idea of state funded brothels to curb this tendency.
Dude I bet you’d have to wait in long lines and fill out all types of forms giving away your identity to the government if brothels were state-run. The overall quality of prostitutional care would be diminished. They wouldn’t be as much personal interaction and everyone would be rushed so that they could get all the lazy welfare types laid too, all on YOUR tax dollars.
I have no idea, but seeing as it’s a crime…

I wonder what the rape statistics are in contrast between countries that have legalalized prostitution versus the ones that outlaw it.

I can’t see them being too different in all honesty. Whilst prostitution may not be legal in many countries, that doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. If a man in Britain/USA/[insert other country here] wants sex and wants to pay for it, he can and will.
Using sexual repression to explain rape is a poor justification.

All I’m trying to do in this thread is explain a set of behaviors psychologically by explaining the instigation that leads to the behavior itself.
I think rape stems from sexual repression and isolation which in any case a person in isolation usually is sexually repressed.
