First, you accuse me of not reading enough books. Now, you’re accusing me of not traveling enough. I suppose you’re trying to say that you know better because you read more books and travel more, and that alone makes you more qualified to speak on the subject of reality. What are the right criteria for approaching reality? Books? (in this case, high school geometry books) Travel? But who or what is it that seeks this knowledge, and why? Just because you can build a bomb doesn’t mean you figured the universe out. Math is a model, created by human mind, which has innate limitations. The universe does not exist to adapt to human mind, the human mind adopts TO it to the best of its innate biological ability. Imperfection, so called, enters existence when complex life entered existence. This is because “life” means the self-depth and engendering that is based in subjective interpretation and generates a perspective. A life’s perspective is created as a finite and biased view of existence; like seeing the bottom surface of a lake through the water things looks a little cloudy, distorted, skewed. The skew picture nonetheless is the product of the reality that exists and is already “perfect” (non-perspectival, mathematical) just as the skewing itself takes place based in clear, rational and absolutely naturally consistent rules. This is the difference between genius and stupidity: stupidity looks at the lake bottom, sees the warped and limited view through the water, and declares that life is imperfect, unknowable, that perception is inherently flawed. Genius looks at that same view and comprehends how the perspectival view works in tandem with the exact same natural perfect consistencies to create subjectivity which, by knowledge and understanding those natural rules and consistencies, is able to know reality regardless of the subjective skew because that skew is equally a result of natural perfection and in-principle knowable order.
The fact that there are unknowns demonstrates what we call reason. An atom has no reason because the sphere of its possible states of being is flat, collapsed to minimality, and wholly external to itself, it has no self-perspective because it contains no inner depth and richness of memory and synthetic processing able to generate a perspective, a mind, a living consciousness. An atom is “incapable of error” whereas you are capable of error. Look at what happens to a self-valuing structure when its size is reduced adequately to discount its own structural means of encounter and self-relation to its own environment and sufficient causes, and you will see why what scientists call “randomness” or “quantum probabilistic uncertainty” exist. These are literally based on the absolutely ordered and rational, causal nature of existence. Reality can and has created everything it “needs” to generate this world and life and everything about it that we see, every certainty and uncertainty. The challenge and joy of consciousness is in its ability and requirement to uncover and discover more and more about all this, until it too becomes edified in reality, its own and that of the universe generally. The possibility is that you can become numinous.
But that will never happen so long as you close yourself off, seek arbitrary limits, stagnate in false pride and apathy of arrogant radical skepticism and closed-minded, small and easy thinking.
Your heart too must be big, bigger even than your thinking and your reason, or else thought and reason amount to nothing more than your own self-created hell.
