What is the method through which we can solve our social problems and conflicts arising withing the society? Is reason the ultimate solution or violence the only way out?

lol, I have never myself attempted to get a homework question answered on here. But I have used the forums to better my understanding of certain topics that I have studied in my Philosophy class.
Gandhi’s ideas worked amazingly and I’m sure it’s a great idea but I think he was off his rocker just a tad when he thought that you can use non-cooperation/non-violence against Hitler. Most of Gandhi’s tactics were aimed as exposing the horrible things that the gov’t did. The world already knew of Hitler’s horrors. If Gandhi led a march in Nazi Germany, it’d be a field day for the SS. Instead of going out and arresting the dissidents, they all gathered themselves in on place to be shot on site/sent to camps.
Reason only works if people aren’t completely corrupt and the rest of the world hears about it and agrees. If Gandhi did stuff in China now nobody would hear becuase China is a closed society.
