Religion is mainly for Healthy People

I’m disgusted by what religion has become in our Postmodern, decadent age. There is a “foreign element”, a group of outsiders, who have polluted the name of religion and its utility within society. These people are not us, and we are not they. Rather, we are the people who most fully understand the nature of religion, as a sign of blood nobility. Imagine this for a moment…

A young man and a young girl meet, and instantly fall in love. But what prevents them from Sex is a Virtue. And these two know, innately, without schooling or education or religious upbringing, that is Right and Good that they must Marry before the sacrament of unveiling their sexuality to one-another. These two, male and female, Marry. And in doing so, consummate their Vows. Upon their wedding night, their virginity is both lost in the throws of a justified passion. Not only do they become wrapped in an undefinable ecstasy, but they are also Legitimized by their community. Their union is a Just one. And in so becoming real, continue over the course of a full lifetime. They have 4 children. They live and die as one, single unity, as Man and Woman.

Doesn’t this sound Romantic? Doesn’t this sound Noble? Of course it does. And chances are almost guaranteed that you yourself envy this ideal. You wish it applied to you. You wish you could live up to it. You wish you could find any type of love even remotely similar to it! You are jealous of it. And you are jealous of it precisely because it is so far to reach for, and so difficult to work for, that it seems impossible to most people. And the vast majority of people will never realize such a thing, and live long, dreadful, loveless, hopeless, empty, meaningless lives.

You desire this type of “Love”, don’t you???

Well, I must admit, Religion and this ideal of a relationship and unity between man and woman, is for Healthy people, not the sick and degenerate. Although the sick and degenerate will envy such unions, such principles, such communities, and such noble blooded persons. Because it marks the difference people who are Good and people who are Evil. Let’s talk about Evil for a moment while I continue my sermon.

Evil is a man who fucks, even rapes. He doesn’t care about the results. He doesn’t care about harming other people. And that is because he is selfish! He doesn’t empathize or sympathize with others. He simply does not care! Perhaps he will spread his progeny around, and many women will take his seed into their bellies. However, he will be absent. And the responsibility and duty to care for his bastard children will fall onto other people. So yes, he is careless insofar as he is irresponsible for himself. And this is what makes him Bad. And this is what makes him Evil.

Next, this scum of the earth, will have the audacity to call religious people “evil” and “sick”. He laughs, and mocks, and ridicules the very notion of responsibility. Because it is something foreign to his mind. He doesn’t know the meaning of the word, as the fatherless son begets the fatherless son begets the fatherless son! And so this corrupted seed will continue to corrupt and corrupt and corrupt a society, until the whole of society falls apart from inside!

Because it has rotted!

And today, we see this climate all around us. People have sex without consequence, without purpose! People have children without responsibility! People divorce their loved ones, their families, and themselves! People accept the corruption of an exponential selfishness and egoism. The dollar becomes their new God. And money is their master. And those controllers of money become their masters. And the society dies. The community dies.

And the individual is left, one among none. You look around you, and you see what? A foreign people, a foreign community, a foreign nation unbound at the seems. And there is nothing connecting you to your neighbor more. And you fail to answer why you should not steal from your neighbor, to take whatever you want from him by force?! You see strangers in your own hometown, and you no longer hesitate to feel why they don’t owe their very lives to you!?! And you take their lives?!

No…religion is for healthy people, who understand the value of Sacrifice and Humility for a community.

Religion is for people who understand the word: FAMILY. Bond. Trust. Loyalty. Permanence. Order.

Religion is for the noble blooded. Atheism is for the barbarian hordes, the classless, the tasteless, the pleasure-seeker, the hedonist, the decadent, the self-righteous, the selfish, the egotist, the ignoble. Atheism is for the lawless, not the lawful. This is why they are uncivil, and belong outside civilization. And this is why they do not belong in our civilization.

And this is why we cannot house all vagabonds into our homes. Because some will violate the trust of the Good, with their intentions of Evil.

Religion is for the strong minded and the well reasoned.

It does seem that many of the anarchistic negative skeptics seem too be jealous of the Idea.

Love is very interesting. It may be incredibly significant…but it also may just be something really cool that we get to experience. At the core, love, everything about it is inherent to the scheme of survival.

Do you know where the feeling comes from? Throughout all history these matters have been referred to as “matter of the heart”. This is because, quite literally, there is a feeling that emanates from that region. The Greeks made a big deal out of it. This is however, not the heart you are feeling but instead, the thymus. Which of course is the center of our immune system. This distinguishes what is you from what is not you.

Love can make you feel odd sometimes, it can also make you feel amazing. You do of course have to accept quantum entanglement to understand this, but essentially love, is the acceptance of another into your immune system. Perhaps this is something incredible to be held with the utmost respect. However…I have loved many times. I do not see a reason to not love as much as possible. Distinguishing these feelings of love from simply those of non-acceptance, can sometimes be tricky, because they are all strange feelings. I don’t think though that if you find that perfect feeling of love that it means that you have found it once and for all and forever. There is a lot out there. You have to listen to what your body is telling you, that is the very basis of sexuality.

I don’t mean, go fuck everybody, this isn’t all about sex either, I’m just saying…take it easy with that whole…Christian tradition thing…however noble it may sound. I do have respect for the concept of staying true to another person, I just do not see the point in waiting all that time to experience life and love. Hahahaa…no, I do see the point, just don’t really thinks it makes a big difference, as long as you make your way to where you were going, it doesn’t matter how you get there.

SQUAAAAAK

SEX IS HEALTHY

SQUAAAAAAAAAAAAK!

Did somebody say “Sex is Unhealthy”?

Ctrl+F, “Unhealthy”, press ‘enter’. Nope!

Thanks for the reminder though, Raven!

Sex is healthiest yet when utilized to its full potential!

Love and Monogamy are interesting, because, humans are one of the rare organisms which realize it, and can practice it. I’m not talking about its deviations, but True Monogamy. A young male, a young female, both virgins and innocent, meet one another, fall in love, Marry under the institution of the Church, consummate the Marriage vow, and beget a child. That child has a permanent home, and two loving parents. That child has a father to idealize, and a mother to respect.

Such a child of this, brought about by True Monogamy is of noble birth. And will become a King or Queen. These are the noble blooded.

It doesn’t matter what religion they’re born into, what country, what class, what race, none of that matters.

Despite their education, despite what they are taught, such a path of morality exists within them innately. These are very rare souls, and their tradition is a Holy and Sanctified one.

Every prodigal man has a path to the good life.

Every prostitute has the potential to change.

Every child is a child of God, no matter how he or she came into the world.

Yet some are closer to God, because they are both more aware of the true ideal, and sacrifice more time ,money, selfishness, to achieve it.

This has to be a put on, right? Because if it isn’t, your head is stuck someplace where the sun don’t shine… :unamused:

How about William James’ ideas that some religion is healthy-minded” and some is sick? Per James a healthy-minded religious person has a deep sense of “the goodness of life,” and a soul of “sky-blue tint”. On the other hand, for the sick soul “radical evil gets its innings”. No matter how secure one may feel, the sick soul finds that “unsuspectedly from the bottom of every fountain of pleasure, as the old poet said, something bitter rises up: a touch of nausea, a falling dead of the delight, a whiff of melancholy….” These states are not simply unpleasant sensations, for they bring “a feeling of coming from a deeper region and often have an appalling convincingness” Some sick souls never get well, while others recover or even triumph: these James calls the “twice-born.” [Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy]

Good one, Felix.

Traditional religious relationships are more based on reason, rather than immediate emotions/urges, although the actual reasoning behind may not coincide with the reasoning given by religions (that is, there may be practical undertones involved in governing behavior). Calling one good and the other evil would be too extreme, as i don’t see selfishness, in itself, as evil; however, one type does require more self-discipline than the other.

Well, pandora, the choice is rather simple. If somebody hands you some coke and a straw to snort it with, then will you indulge in your selfishness for the sake of pleasure, or do you have principles and reject it, for the sake of some ideal Beyond The Pleasure Principle?

It obviously is easier to travel through life, fulfilling indulgences, and to take rather than give. The thing is, these Nietzscheans today, have made it into their virtue to take and not to give. They have turned the nature of religion around, and built a new religion of absolute selfishness, solipsism, and narcissism. Then they claim that they are the “virtuous” ones, while only feeding themselves, and never anyone else.

My question is, do people really see this as virtuous, and if they do, then who are these people, except those who are themselves selfish and greedy???

Who does greed resonate within, except the greedy? But look at US society today, as the result of all this materialistic greed and capitalism. We are bankrupt, lack leadership, have lost world trust and support, have made enemies throughout the world, have trouble with alliances, and have no envisioned future for ourselves. The only direction out of absolute individualism, is what, except, socialism, collectivism, communism, and religion? Yet, still the low class plebs, and middle class wage slaves, still, still, still, believe that the rich have their vested interests in mind?! HA, it’d be funny if it weren’t so predictable and true.

The irony is that the lowest of society, the most disenfranchised, the most desperate, are those ones most innoculated with the ideal that they are individuals, their opinions count, and that we actually have a cohesive society in which people look after each other, and have each other’s vested interests in mind. It’s laughable, because it’s easy to manipulate.

Obviously, obviously, it is much more difficult to help others, and sacrifice your own time, energy, work, and money in life, to and amongst other people, who may not return the favor, than it is to hoard all the riches for yourself, lock yourself in a cell, and distrust everybody as if they were alien to you. Vanity is so…unbelievably predictable.

I don’t think Hope can exist without Vanity, Pandora… but you know this better than others.

Hello Trajic,
I agree with you up to the point you become absolutist by labelling that which you consider deleterious “evil”.
Religion is for healthy people, but marriage, for the sake of the community or the children etc, is unhealthy in most cases. Sure, it might be noble, but noble life is often hypocritical, hidding under the veil of “virtue” great sins against the self.
Now, you almost equate religion to community, to family, but as far as Christianity is concerned, this is not an absolute. When his mother and brothers come looking for him, he redefines the meaning of family to those that do God’s will. What saves society is not what happens in marriage or outside marriage but whether we follow God’s will, do what is right or not.
In Italy for example, marriage was not always feasible. The parents of the girl might oppose the union…sometimes it is money…but it was not the ceremony that was binding in that society but the act of sex itself. The man who took a girl in the night became her de-facto husband because in a society that appreciates virginity as a condition of marriage for life, such a girl was tarnished. She was, forever, that man’s conquest and no other man would have her. This was serious. But the guy that did this sort of thing wanted it that way. Here in America you have sex with this or that person…your first time is sometimes quite immemorable, filed in memory with regret more than anything, but in Italy that first time, used to be, quite memorable, within or outside matrimony.
But America is America and Italy…well it is not what it used to be. Religion is for noble people, but I add that Catholicism is not the same as Protestanism. The community is regarded differently in each. The individual is given primacy under protestanism and this is one of the reasons why the health of the community is secondary. It is a by-product, in Protestant theology, of the health of the individual and not the cause of such health. While in Catholic theology, the body of the community is paramount to the salvation of the individual. The salutary effects of religion, I add, are exagerated also. It is not that religious create moral people but that moral people tend to gravitate towards moral systems available in religions. Like attracts like. Those that are converted are said to be born again in protestanism, and this would be the ideal. But the fact is that many will say “Lord, Lord” and will not be recognized because religion itself is not enough. What God wants is justice and that is a quality that cannot be learned. Conscience cannot be taught. You either have it or you do not. And if you have it, then your religiosity might be an effect and not the cause of your sense of community of selflessness.

I agree with most of what you just said.

And for whatever reason, I believe I have this “Italian” mindset ingrained into my unconscious psyche somehow. Because I’ve always, since the youngest age, felt extreme judgment and negativity against females who “whore” themselves out, and have sex without a second thought. These types of girls would get pregnant in high school, their loser piece of shit boyfriend would ditch them, they’d raise a baby alone, as a single parent, and seem pretty miserable. These types of people usually had low self esteem, or various other causes.

But Monogamy and Virtue, I know for certain, was the very least thing on their minds.

I would consider myself a blend between Protestant and Roman Catholic. I want to merge these two christian traditions together, as I see these two have the most potential to survive in our Postmodern, Postchristian society. We need a New Reformation, a 21st Century American Reformation. And that is what you, and I, are predestined by God to do here.

As I see it, many of the “old Virtues” still apply today, although they have become forgotten by most, or people have become too lazy to apply them.

Why I say Virtue has become negative, and masculinity has become hateful, is due to my own experiences throughout light, and observation after observation of what I’ve seen on television, on the internet, talking with people, and debating with people, on many different forums, throughout the majority of my life. So these conclusions of mine are not ill informed, and not ignorant. I’ve tested the prepositions.

After studying the first, second, and third wave feminist movements, after the counter-cultural revolutions in the united states, many negative changes have occurred, to both the intentional and unintentional decay of american, and greater Western society. In other words, there are people who want to see “us” fail, and fail miserably. 9-11 is only one indication of the perceived weakness in american and western hegemony after the Cold War. Capitalism has made america bankrupt. Incompetent leaders have left few allies to trust us. Moral degeneracy is rampant.

You seem to disagree with all this. So we’ll have to agree to disagree here, and keep our focus on why religion is for healthy people. We don’t seem to disagree on the main point at least.

My main point is simply, Positive values (Virtue, Ethos, Morality) all require a constant upkeep in the form of Faith, organized religion, and pious belief (aesthetics). Because I see none are willing to reassert these values, and the old dogmas have failed to maintain themselves, this leaves men like you and I left to reassert “The Good”. And all that means, is Virtue.

For example, nobody even speaks about “Chastity” anymore. I’m surprised if anybody under the age of 30 even knows the meaning of the word in the united states. Our country, excuse my harshness here, has become a country of sluts and bastards. Nobody has a sense of family. Everybody has a sense of mememe, nownownow, immediate gratification. Everybody is focused on the here and now, as part of the american “15 second mentality”. If you don’t say what you need to say in 15 seconds, then you’ve lost the attention of the american populace. To adapt to this, organized religion needs to change, philosophy needs to change, virtues need to adapt, and culture and social values need to change too.

I don’t expect anyone other than men who are like minded as I, to care about the distant past or the distant future. Americans really don’t care where they came from, or where they’re going. But it is our responsibility to look out for our neighbors and brethren. They’re not as intelligent as us, and, we need to take care of them, and gently guide them along. Their ideals, their ideas, and their thoughts, are not very strong compared to that of a philosophers.

Similarly, their conception of Good, Virtue, Ethics, Morality, are all inferior as well. Not many people of the entire population actually visit this website, even fewer participate, even fewer still are ready to enact these thoughts, and live a philosophical life style of application and change. Because this requires Sacrifice. And virtues require Faith…in Divinity, if not “God” at least. What I conceive as God is merely in line with our shared, Western tradition of it, inspired by The Good.
