RELIGION LOSING ITS GRIP ON REALITY AND APPLICATION OF FAITH

Topic just sprang up in my mind.

I see alot of Christians, or people proclaiming themselves to be Christians.

I also see these very exact same people committing the foulest deeds in humanity.

Anyone who takes religion to the extreme is bound to hurt someone.

Look at the suicide bombers.

I think this is the same all round, WHY call yourself a religious follower when you do NOT follow the books “religiously”?.

If I had a penny for everytime someone said they were a Christian and did something to disprove that or something inconsistent with that statement, I WOULD BE A MILLIONAIRE.

Now, in this sense, “Christianity” is a very pure word if you take away the human frailties that we all suffer.

The values of christianity on paper are straightforward, aren’t they?

But full application in society is hard to do, which is where I see the application of faith being mistaken for the purity of faith itself.

It comes back to that saying “actions speak louder than words”.

You can proclaim your faith all you want, but if you do not practice it every moment of your life, then you cannot call yourself a proper Christian.

I think this too of any other religion.

True. Soapbox? Or is there something to talk about?
