Religion usually increases work output, but not always.

Boy decides it is a good idea cut off his hand after being accused of blasphemy. After being questioned why, boy responds "If the right hand causes you to sin, cut it off.’ Reads like a bad joke from the Sunday funnies.

Only thing is, the boy is Muslim, and the verse I mentioned is actually from Christianity, which means Allah didn’t actually demand him to cut off his hand. Seems what is happening here is a mix of religions, Christianity+Islam what I call “Islamianity”.

In most cases, religion increases work output of the citizens, but in this case, it has decreased it by 50 percent.
