Are their any Christian beliefs that psychology cannot hold up?
Psychology doesn’t exactly “hold” things up. Its not a hard science, that’ll state things in definite terms, like physics or astronomy.
But what does psychology have to say about christian religions? Well, Jung would argue that it holds the same archetypes as almost all the other world religions, from the self-sacrificing son persona (found in pagan religions in several forms, the personification of the Dark Son sacrificing himself most notable, as well as in Greek mythos in the form of Hercules) to the more abstract portions of the message: love one another, etc, etc. As such, it can not be any truer than any of the older religions it mimics. Sadly enough, Jung was a christian, so didn’t turn his theory that far.
Skinner would contest that all religions are bullshit, and don’t matter, because they aren’t real…but he doesn’t account for much.
Evolutionary psych in general says that religion exists not for the teaching of religion, but of shared values, and a force of protection from exterior forces. As such, christianity’s popularity today is because of its large size and its working tenets, which prohibit activities that may be dangerous to the self and family. The actual “religious” stuff is just fluff.
There’s probably a lot more that can be said on it, especially the reasons for its success: the copy-cat nature of christianity is probably one of the most interesting studies in assimilation that one can make, when looking for explinations of why certain cults/religions prosper and others fail…but…I’m too lazy to get too far into that.

Jung would argue,… Self sacrificing son arguement???
Yet the case spacifics argue otherwise.
Evelotion doesn’t allow room for the supernatural,… and pushes it off at the ease of believing in the possiabilities.
What about psychology? Who cares about generaliztions. What about psychology today magazine saying it’s okey to sleep around because you’re mature enough???
I say the innocents and purity of a child says differently. I say the Holy Spirit heals the soul into something simular of the innocents and purity of a new child. The unconditional love of a child is what we need to make relationships work. Obviously psychology believes in conditional love upon worldly desires. In fact they will say tolerate someone unless you have to live with them (having a good divorce).
No ligitamate answers from psychology yet.
Your initial question is too broad for serious consideration. There are many different Christian sects with different beliefs. Are all of these beliefs supported by psychology? No. But as you can see, your question would be more meaningful if you narrowed it down to some specific assertions. I for one don’t know what you are talking about when you refer to Jung and “Psychology Today.” Opposing psychology to Christianity seems like a losing proposition to me. You might do well to study both subjects further before you attempt to discuss them rationally here.

Most all christian’s have the same beliefs. In fact, it’s beliefs on who God is that seperates most christian faiths.
But you’d rather look at mormons past beliefs of more then one wife as reason to disect christians as divided.
