You can still make a complaint to the dean or department head. Make a well-thought-out, bloodless written complaint. Yes, yes, he has your grade in his hands. If that is the most important thing to you, then stop complaining on principle.
Most of us have run across a prof who was off in left field somewhere. I had several. I found it best (easiest because I’m lazy) to perform dutifully and on the side, keep a running journal of my objections and why I objected. Exploring the fallacies being presented is a good way to form or firm up your own thinking. There is always a positive that comes with a negative. Sometimes, you just have to look for it…

according to this argument, i do not think there is a civilization on earth that is not currently “responsible” for some sort of atrocities, such as genocide. the way that our civilizations have won their right to stay alive and live their version of civilization is by, historically, killing others and taking their land, money, people, and resources. every future generation benefits from these things.
therefore, everyone alive today is responsible??
seems like it is quite a stretch. especially when, even if we wanted to, we could not remove ourselves from using those benefits. we can’t move to another country because then we would be benefiting from that current groups past dominance over its original, native folk. at that point, i say “that’s life.”
i wasnt really complaining just considering his point. i didnt get the chance to explore the topic in his class so i brought it here to see if he had an arguement. i didnt think so but maybe someone else migtve wanted to take it up to see where it went.

Neither do I, had many great instructors who are communists, but they knew their shit, presented both sides of the issues, and never really dinged student grades. However, CSUSB, is another issue. Talk about see it my way or your grade will suffer, attempted ridicule, implication, etc. LOL, three tried this bs, but after I told them that I ran my essays through two English Ph.D instructor friends, before turning them in, they backed off. Sure my grade went from A, to A- and B+, but didn’t really give a shit.
Good luck kid, and remember the tape recorder. Then report the instructor to the VP of academic services, those who deal with student complaints.
