What’s so great about the hobbit is that it’s a classic. It takes a really good book to be read by such a wide variety of people, from countries all over the world, from the earliest of ages (whenever one starts reading) to seniors, males and females alike read this book.
It’s also an opportunity to read a prequel to the popular LORD OF THE RINGS movie. I believe one must be interested in fantasy, but many of the concepts within the book him home to our human nature, and what’s more, it is a work of masterpiece in the creation of an all new world. The way Tolkien describes other cultures, people, nature, cities, personalities is enchanting and shows genius in imagination as well as writing style used to make one understand and grasp them into an all new reality apart from our own.
If you wish to get away from life stresses; this is the second best way to do it (my opinion). The first is to watch Matrix.

P.S. Right now I am reading a very interesting novel. One by the name of ‘Celestine Prophecy’ by James Redfield. It is by far one of the best books I have ever read, although it’s language style is for the lay man, and the characters within the novel are not described and introduced well; the amount of energy and ideas proposed within one book is absolutely amazing.

The wheel of time is a looooong series of fantasy novels about the usual guff, Ancient prophecy, An evil force yadda yadda yadda.

my favorite fantasy novel series is DRAGONLANCE. From these my favorite of all the series is one book called ‘Legend of Huma’. It’s an excellent series. It is actually from this series and that book that my nickname ‘Magius’ comes from. I won’t give it away, but if you read the book you will find out why

Dragonlance is not AD&D based.
My avatar, well that was a chance find. I found it on the net, and it intrigued me. I forget who it was made by, but it was made by a freelance artist using only three colors. Black, white, and blue. The picture is of a mage kneeling with one leg, with a robe on, and a staff in his right hand. I have always been intrigued and mystified by magic, the occult, and the arcane. I use to be a magician too. I feel that the avatar represents who I am best.
I am glad you have chosen to join the tournament. Coincedence has it that everyone but Ben has been paired up. So, the two admins get to play against each other. You guys choose when to play, just make sure to REMEMBER to send me a copy of the moves once the game is done - also indicating who was white and who was black. I will contact Ben myself to let him know, but you should email or PM him to set up a date and time.
Believe me, you will do great. Furthermore, I think you will be one of the top players – trust me.

A misunderstanding now cleared up. Go to google and search for dragonlance. The first site that comes up is a D7D site. Dragonlance is actually a D&D environment, as well as a series of novels which have notyhing to do with it.
