Sure, Man U have the fan base. At least 10 clubs in the premiership - from past glorys - have a long standing fanbase that’ll be carried on from father to son; daughters even when Alex brings in the lookers: Best, Becks, Ronaldo and Chadwick. Not even success sometimes though, Sunderland pull in the crowds without too much success, (relatively speaking when you think about teams such as Wolves and Preston North who’ve had alot of success in the past).
Humm… I think Wengar is losing it since Mourinho came along. I know its mostly just press spin to sell storys, but to say “we play more attractive football though” in response to Mourinho calling him a stalker, is accepting his team is weaker to me. Arsenal play a beautiful game and are enjoyable to watch, especially since the premiership has dulled down into a more defensive minded approach. Thats predominantly why i’ve went on about Chelsea so much, since they came into money they’ve revolutionised the premiership. It’ll be interesting to see what happens with Arsenal once they begin to play in there new stadium. No longer will Wenger have to buy cheap players (which his incredibly good at) and hope they turn into over night stars, he’ll finally have some financial room to play with; all this talk about him going i cant see happening, neither Henry. Henry as you pointed out, doesnt have that big occasions touch. He ran rings around Juventus that time and has had some good performances in Europe, but they’ve never got anywhere, which says alot. Its the same with France too, since the big occasions man - Zidane the god of football - began to show his age (and more of that bold patch).
It works both ways with Rooney though, his a well known face who the referees like to make an example of, yet his the most fouled play in the premiership and europe. Man U have gained alot of free-kicks of him, pity that they lack someone suitable to finish a couple. They havent had a free-kick specialist - who scores - since… i cant remember when, Robson??
Referees are always bad really, the worst refereeing ive ever known was in the last world cup. They really didnt have a clue, poor Italy had to suffer been knocked out again on a technocality against South Korea; either been penaltys or ref decisions.
My Uncles a big fan of Rangers, the table has been turned, yet again i feel West Hams all out attack would crush his side.
Too many poor foreigners, Glaswegian teams used to dominate Europe with Scottish talent. Theres been plenty of talented Scotman in England over the years, you’d of thought they’d understand that foreigners are simply there for the money in an abismal league like Scotland.
Your getting confused with Beckham. Sven has captain crap spewing poo all over the pitch and all over Engalnds game play. Thankfully Rooney can take control sometimes and give us some hope. Its Beckham, not Lampard that disrupts Gerrard’s game, and the left question is finally - again - half answered by Cole; who is maturing into a fantastic player but is right footed. The team overall looks amazing, they should of won alot more. Which is usually unlucky for Sol Campbell and his headers that were never to be.
So you would drop Lampard? Who would you replace him with? He finished second in FIFA’s player of the year, behind the unbelievably awesome Ronaldinho, as voted for by all the worlds managers. He finished second in European footballer of the year behind the awesome Ronaldinho, as voted for by the players on the pitch. But your right of course. At least the players and managers realised Beckham was a load of who-ha.
I was happy with draw, a couple of potential giant killers so: let them kill! England need a big kick up the arse to get going. I espect Sweden to beat us though, they always do. We know some people who live near Munich. Theres no England group games there but if they finish second and then play Germany, that’ll be where its at. Cant wait, the fever will only grow from now. ![]()
