The “grab as much shit as you can while you’re here to grab it” attitude is much prevalent today, and you my dear Wonderer, were this thread’s exemplary of such. No points or presents for you sonny Jim, and only a broken teddy-bear leg to Imp, who was in the ball park, but way off the plate.
Is our bickering among ourselves in any way helpful to one whose existence appears threatened by thwarted expectation? I could only hope that he sees this circus as evidence that an anthing goes world needs him.
“The mark of your ignorance is the depth of your belief in injustice and tragedy. What the caterpillar calls the end of the world, the master calls a butterfly.”
–Richard Bach
And don’t trust so-called “masters”, what they call what, or what they say. “Masters” are not the final authority on anything, and anyone who calls himself or others a master deserves a good kick in the back.
Just think for yourself.
It says “Truth”. Do you have problem seeing stereograms? If so, try this one. (Put a pen at some distance in front of it and focus on the tip of the pen. If you see the middle of the image start caving-in, then you got it [it should look like a pumpkin]. Then, try the same thing with mine and in the periphery of your vision look for the “h” on the right, it’s usually the first thing to stand out. Once you get the “h” you should get the rest automatically)
Firstly putting your faith in god can either give you hope of an after life (which doesn;t help us now) or more detrimentally it can lead to a very serious dilemma.
God never seems to show itself so putting your faith in god in hopes of a better life is somewhat futile. i’m not saying “don;t believe in god” just “don’t count on god”
Once you accept a godless existence you must then come to terms with your situation in life.
If we think of ourselves as slaves it is only a matter of time before we break. In order to counter this what you must do is make the choice to make the best of things. Once you do that you will begin to reap any rewards which are within your reach.
The most common depression that i see is the kind that stems from people having less than mediocre lives where they were raised to believe that life is grand and they should be successful.
Not everyone in life is successful. you should prepare yourself for that possibility.
If you cannot achieve your desires then you should change your desires.
Some people see life as something that they own, like a bonzi tree. If the tree gets sick then they become depressed.
I see life as something that we fight for. Like we’re tied to the end of a wagon and are forced to keep up the pace so that we don’t get dragged…
Right now the most important thing in my life is figuring out how best to keep up the pace.
(p.s just for you tab, the buffet in this new metaphor doesn’t make sense, so instead the buffet represents the reward scraps that the wagon driver throws to us if we do a good job of keeping up)
The most critical thing to accept in all of this is that life is not a merry go round.
