When an animal goes extinct it will disrupt the food chain. When we begin to cause the extinction of an animal due to our encroachment on its habitat or whatever we usually take steps to save the animals cause its the “right thing to do” or whatever. Now what if an animal was threatened with extinction due to some sort of natural factor… i dunno mabye disease whiped out the animal in questions food supply.

A meteor hits our planet and causes a devistation to an animals habitat such that it is unable to adapt quick enough to its new environment.
Should we step in and save the animals? Or let nature run its course?
I can’t remember for sure, but it’s some 90 something percent of species that have existed on this planet are extinct. It’s okay if it’s natural extinction. It’s when industry starts causing species to go extinct that were thriving before that wrecks the ecosystem.
Why would you think a meteor hitting our planet is nature running its course? If that happens I think its safe to assume we are living in a random world, where we through random chance have the ability to create or maintain order. If the order of our world is threatened ofcourse we should step in and try to fix it.
