Don’t just scrap them - kill them. The British Monarchy is the richest institution on earth - more than the Federal Reserve, more than the World Bank, more than the Catholic Church. All that wealth and power centralised in one genetic dynasty, particularly an in bred one, is a terrible base for any society. Let alone one that wishes to be seen as liberal and egalitarian.

The Royal family does however provide a link to the irrational past, before republics; ludites ought to think twice before adopting all the promise of the French Revolution.
